If the “loaded” version of the Traveler is $90k+ it’s going to price out a majority of customers.
Im guessing it will be similar to Range Rover. Sure you can get one for 110k but the one you see in the magazine is closer to 225k.

So 60K for base, 110-120 for what you saw.

Aren't the $51,000 base prices actually $60,000 prices minus the $7500 alleged tax credit? I think it's more accurate to say the base pricing is $60,000.
Yah, thats assuming we even have an EV credit on the table in 2 or 3 years when these release.

Unless they're pricing in projected lithium prices falling or other efficiencies, I'd be surprised if the top trim isn't at least $80k. Even that is pushing it, Rivian started there and almost immediately needed to raise prices. The biggest cost is batteries which will likely come down in a couple of years but the tech that sits on top still isn't cheap. They're getting the zonal architecture from Rivian and likely a lot of other IP which might help Scout start at a better profitability than Rivian. But I don't see how Scout does all this and undercuts Rivian's starting price...using their tech.

It will be interesting to see what the base price they come out with. I am afraid it will be a bate and switch when final pricing comes out.. Will see a lot of the reservations get cancelled. I am hoping they will keep it in this price range.

Personally, I don’t think it will be a bait and switch. I feel like they will try to stick to prices announced as much as they can, but as many said…that will be super standard. If you want anything close to what we’ve seen so far you’re gonna be paying at least 80K and above. I don’t understand why people would think the concepts we’ve seen would be anywhere near base cost.

100% correct.

Ford Lightning was released in 2022 with the Lariat and Platinum trims first and foremost.

Very few could get their hands on the base Pro or XLT trims.

I had to get a Lariat trim even though I didn't want all those bells and whistles.

Originally wanted the $39K base Pro but that price went up after the 2022 MY.

Only speaking for myself here, but the interior is the one thing about the concepts that turn me off.

I use my trucks for work and doing dirty things. I don't want any fabric, anything white or tan, no fancy wood, no high gloss paint, not any of that.

a mid 50's work truck that can haul 2k, tow 10, is easy to clean out, little maintenance, is all I'm after here.

I have no need for the Harvester option and know it, but they'll sell a zillion of these to middle America if they can get a base model with Harvester out the door for under 60.

I saw the concept and put down my $100 knowing I won’t make interest off it, but can get it back. It’s 2+ years out so I’m not expecting them to stick to their price point. There’s no way it’ll start at $60K. Also, I have a Tesla Model Y Performance that does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds that weighs less. I say this because it was advertised at 310 mile range and I’m lucky to get maybe 230 miles of normal driving. Unless your driving it like your almost out of gas, you’ll never see 350 or whatever miles they advertise so don’t get fixated on that distance. Not being a downer, but have and encourage others to have realistic expectations. Tesla mass produces their cars and build quality sucks with vegan seats and minimal accessories yet the Model Y Performance has a retail price of $54K so again, a better and bigger vehicle with similar performance and more range priced at $60K? Too good to be likely. I’m in it for what I hope it will be and not what I hope it will cost.

I had a 2004 Toyota Tacoma double Cab for 15 years and it was a great truck but only used it to help buddies move or moving furniture/appliances never for work. I have a deposit down on a TERRA/HARVESTER I love the look of the hemp wood on the dashboard and door panels but is that is probably an upgrade as well. I am excited to see what interior leather options there will be and the price.

My absolute must will be the moon roof upgrade I'll pay the $5K more or whatever it's going to be. But I can do without the bench seat, go for low end leather and low end wood and I don't need 35" tires if those won't be factory.

Most of the time the TERRA truck for me will be used to drive my younger brother's family around with my 2 nephews and niece. Mostly soccer, Bball and softball games and trips to Disneyland or camping.

But I hear ya some people will want the TERRA just as a work truck so no need for any pricey upgrades.

I wonder if they are going to offer customization like ford does? Might be too much for manufacturing but packages might be the best thing. Hopefully not like polestar’s package style.
Plans are for Scout to offer substantial aftermarket and dealership installed parts similar to Jeep Wrangler, and Bronco.

mods for the week I buy my Traveler:

automatic/retractable steps that can be “side skid plates”

All windows will be tinted in “clear” heat rejection films (sides and rear darker)

light wheels, and highway tires will be my daily set up, but keep OEM’s for anything off the road.

I just hope they can get the basics down well, and offer a few necessarily factory upgrades at a reasonable price - the rest of the stuff can always be done aftermarket. I am a sucker for upgrades.

That said, a lot of what they have mentioned really would not cost them all that much to add. It they choose to do that, they might knock it out of the park.
