Aren't the $51,000 base prices actually $60,000 prices minus the $7500 alleged tax credit? I think it's more accurate to say the base pricing is $60,000.
Without the tax credits it will force the companies to lower prices. Since all the tax credit does is it allows the companies to raise their prices. Without it, it will force them to lower it.

From articles looks like the TERRA will be a little more $$ than the TRAVELER...
It seems like most of the time the SUV version of a platform starts a little more expensive. I could see the Terra climbing higher than the Traveler in price though pretty easily.

How much range loss will happen when the "Whatever comes with 35's" adds in everything and the kitchen sink because we just wanted tires and possibly a lift?

We have a few examples out there that will point us in the right direction;

Jeep Wagoneer S: 72K
Silverado Electric WT: 79K
Rivian R1S: 76K
ID. Buzz: 60K
Hummer 96K

These are all base prices and the closest to size and range is the Rivian or Chevy at 76 and 79K. A 60K vehicle is going to be bare bones. Go drive the Chevy WT for a day and tell me thats what you want (I have one sitting in my driveway now and its awful).

My estimate is still at 80K for a mid level spec, 100K for what we saw.

If the “loaded” version of the Traveler is $90k+ it’s going to price out a majority of customers.

Inflation, Battery Cost Curve, EV Credits/Regulations, Supply/Demand, Company Financials, Geo Politics, etc - a lot can happen over a few years (reflect back on the past 2-3 years - that's not political related comment)....they know what the pricing curve does to sales volume so they'll do the best they can to balance against profitability. None of the EV Makers are gouging, but they're dealing with cost variables that add up and most are even losing money on every vehicle sale, some significantly.

They just need to make a solid base vehicle with some reasonable option packages that are in the ballpark of announced pricing - that will be a win for all! But metering expectations, it will have changes from what's shown today (spec's and features) and it wont be the fully loaded, every option for the stated price - that will be >$80k in my opinion eg range extender, 35" Offroad Package, Molle Racks, etc

On the positive side price changes wont be as bad as my Cyber Beast (announced at $79.9k, actual at $119.9k)! Ouch!

Thanks for update. Since the concepts have been such a hit, they should offer a "Concept" trim (or another name, doesn't matter what) which basically mimics the concept Traveler and Terra closely or as much as possible.

It seems to me from reading through this forum that people have a lot of “wants” for the Scout and that makes it “loaded” and prices out many people.

Lots of people probably expect production Scouts resembling the concept models level of upgrades but with the estimated entry price of $50-50K. Not a new phenomenon and happens often in the car industry... this association is just natural consumer reaction when a company puts its best foot forward with great looking concepts while at the same time teasing the lowest entry price possible.

And less profit means less investment in R&D and, potentially, less motivation for pushing the platform forward.

I’ve owned pure BEVs for 10 years (since the EV tax credit was initiated) and while the technological advancements haven’t been shocking, it’s been steady and worthwhile. From 96mi of range in the BMW i3 to 220mi in the Chevy BoltEV to 240 in the Mustang MachE to 280 in a nicely equipped BMW i4 M Sport and now back to an extended range MachE with 320mi range. The cars have gotten nicer, more mainstream, and more efficient. I hope we continue to head down that road (pun intended)

Cool idea! They could also package that as a "First Edition" similar to VW's ID. Buzz.

The $7500 tax credit is likely to go away with Trump.
also, here is a photo of the 51K trim level. You will have to supply your own seats
