I’ve leased EVs for 10 years now. If you don’t plan on keeping it and don’t destroy it while you have it, it’s a good deal. Only Chevy gouged me on tires when I did a lease return. Otherwise BMW and Ford have both been great.
Thanks! I missed that in the video. I wonder what the implementation might look like. I like what scout is doing with the UI. Can they do CarPlay in its own floating window? Just take bits and pieces like maps and replace preloaded maps?
Eager to learn more.
if they could somehow partner with apple to integrate even just the music, messaging, and home functionality that CarPlay does so well, even into its own little independent window (like much of the ui shown) it would be great. I also personally like the look of Apple Maps so much more than...
Yep. 3 years in i3, 3 years in BoltEV, 2 years in a MachE before a dealer cut me a sweet deal for the i4. But I was only in that for 1 year before Ford contacted me about a great deal on a newer MachE program car right after the MachE price drop that saved me like $200 a month.
Some of these tech reviewers definitely get way too far up their own backsides. They do not represent normal people and rarely address things average users care about. Makes me want to start a podcast but I’d be worried I’d turn into one of them.
Currently in the ‘23 Premium extended range Mustang MachE. It’s our 5th BEV in the last 10 years. Mostly been leasing because I consider myself an enthusiast and like the evolving technology.
There is a lot to like about the MachE. Roomy inside. BlueCruise works well. For the most part I’m...
Where are you shopping?!?! I just got back from grocery shopping.
dozen eggs $2.49
loaf of bread $3.09
bananas 55¢ a pound
ground beef $5.49 a pound
bacon for $4.79 a pound.
All in all, week worth of food for a family of 4 for around $150
You might be surprised. My wife and I are teachers. We budget well but EVs would never have been something we could have purchased outright 10 years ago. That said we have had 5 different EVs over that span (not a Tesla among them) because we either got lease credits or were able to claim the...
While a dollar doesn’t go as far post pandemic anywhere, in regard to its worldwide value, the dollar is doing just fine seeing as the US has outperformed the rest of the world in regard to inflation over the last 24 months.
This isn’t because of any political outcomes or speculative changes to incentives or tariffs. Solely based on demand and interest rates that are only creeping down slowly. Also we have entered new model season which puts more pressure on used dealers to offer deals.
My problem with what Musk said is that it focuses on equality instead of equity. The idea of ending oil and gas subsidies is a long time coming. That said, lobbying has to be addressed as well if you want a true level playing field. Oil and gas has remarkable sway in DC. True EV startups don’t...
And less profit means less investment in R&D and, potentially, less motivation for pushing the platform forward.
I’ve owned pure BEVs for 10 years (since the EV tax credit was initiated) and while the technological advancements haven’t been shocking, it’s been steady and worthwhile. From 96mi...
