Not that I have one, but have watched youtube videos on the shrinking of garages. Developers want to squeeze houses into narrower lots - and there is just so much they can compress the house without compressing the garage - and the garage is the easiest to compress. Doubt I will see it much in Texas - as too many people have full sized trucks and SUV's, and honestly in Texas land is cheaper than many other places. But it is definitely an issue in cities that can not sprawl due to geographic constraints.

Personally, am working on building a new home - it will NOT have a compressed, or even a normal sized garage-it will be supersized a bit. It started as a deep 3 car, and I added another 6' in width. Builder squirmed when I asked about going 4 car.
I built a house in 2019/2020. The original garage layout was three cars, one 18' door and one 8' door, and only 20' deep. I said screw it and went with a 32" wide 24' deep 2 car with two 8'x8' doors, made the mudroom/laundry room bigger and made the 3rd bay into a man door and a small shop. I literally designed it to hold a cybertruck, and then cancelled my order last year when the specs came out. That thing IS ugly and when they missed all the spec benchmarks I was out. 300 miles of range, 11,000 towing and 1500 load for $100K, they missed on every metric I cared about. Original promise from Musk was 400mi, 14K towing, and 2000 load for about $75K. Musk is the king of overpromise under deliver. I sure hope Scout is taking notes on that, all of it. Make good on your promised specs, hit price point.

Thats TESLA’s catch phrase “ Overpromise under deliver”

Youre probably right they will have a model with road tires but like the Rivian it will make no sense. The capability of the R1T/R1S with the air suspension, hydraulic roll control, etc, makes no sense with road tires. Such overkill. The R2 makes a lot more sense.

I suspect if Scout makes a base model with road tires it will also be overkill. Whats the point of that ground clearance when it will never go offroad. Perhaps they will tweak other things so that its cheaper and makes more sense for on road use.
Since the initial production vehicles will all come from pre-orders, there is really no reason not to offer a somewhat wide range of available tires. But these are car guys, from legacy auto makers, and they don't think in terms of "custom", just packages you can sell for silly mark ups. Here in the southeast, I don't deal with snow, wet is usually as bad as it gets, so a nice hybrid tire would make the most sense for me. There won't be any sound coming from the engine or exhaust so I don't want to hear myself "werrring" down ever street with all that off-road tread, so I think this would be my preference.

One would think an all-season tire would be offered for maximum range. An off-road tire usually knocks off 30-40 miles of range.

Take a look at the Lucid Gravity.

The GT is available to order now, but the less expensive one will be available in 2025.

The GT is advertised to have 440 miles range and Lucid has been one of the top manufacturers to meet its advertised range. Towing capacity is 6,000 pounds.

The Gravity is smaller than the Traveler and has an option for a third row if you need it.

Lucid is very efficient. Gravity does seem nice. They have had some QC issues, but I mainly dismiss them (other than price) because of their Saudi ownership. To each their own.

Everything seems to think that Scout can Match Lucid’s Range. Lucid has a very aero efficiency body. Scout is a offroader with pure style.

Yeah, that would make the most sense for range for sure, but for the aesthetics I think I would prefer a hybrid like Toyo or Falken or Nitto Grappler. They make some good looking tires that I've seen on some friends Broncos. They can handle some off-roading and they look the part, but better range and sound dampening for road use.

You guys have the freedom to put whatever tire you want on it you range freaks. Personally Im gonna leave the All terrain tires on it. Since my scout will be all over fishing. And since off road tire get more mileage. Because of the deeper treads.
