But it can tow 7,200#. You won't find a small Suv that will have anywhere near the tow rating.

So you’re like 90% plus of all SUV buyers in that you will never go off-road and lugging around all that off-road over engineered metal in a high aspect brick makes no sense. You’d be better suited to any number of road oriented crossovers or SUv’s either EV or other. Since harvester type engines are limited to Scouts and the Charger though, and these are all overbuilt for your needs (and for most people) you don’t have much choice. Maybe see what Rivian does with the R2, or what Hyundai offers. Unfortunately, towing capacity usually comes with all the extra weight of off-road hardware, so your choices are going to be pretty limited. People like to think they can go off road even if they never will.

I’m using mine for fishing and a daily driver and possibly hauling a boat when the time is right to buy one.

I have a Ranger FX4 and use it off road in the desert or mountains while RV’ing several weeks each summer. But it gets crappy gas mileage (20 max) and it would be great to have the harvester option. My only concern is towing it, either four down or flat bed.

What is the tow rating for that?

This is the worst idea ever from a a branding and legacy standpoint. It stands against what this car represents. You need a different model and possibly a different brand.

So will you be getting the Terra or the Traveler?

Traveller harvester. Dislike the smaller battery but range and towing range is more important. (lots of chargers here in mall lots, no trailer friendly stations)

I am not opposed to scout making a baby bronco or mini land cruiser for street use. But don't sully the flagship. It Needs to be a purebread off roader and not watered down.

My Ranger? 7K lbs, I think the Harvester is 7200 or so. My RV has a tow cap at 7500 and I think the Harvester is going to exceed that. On the other hand my Wife said she would be happy to drive the Scout and follow the RV, she is so sweet!

Not that I have one, but have watched youtube videos on the shrinking of garages. Developers want to squeeze houses into narrower lots - and there is just so much they can compress the house without compressing the garage - and the garage is the easiest to compress. Doubt I will see it much in Texas - as too many people have full sized trucks and SUV's, and honestly in Texas land is cheaper than many other places. But it is definitely an issue in cities that can not sprawl due to geographic constraints.

Personally, am working on building a new home - it will NOT have a compressed, or even a normal sized garage-it will be supersized a bit. It started as a deep 3 car, and I added another 6' in width. Builder squirmed when I asked about going 4 car.
Go bigger while it’s still easy. I have a three car with each bay oversized (length and width) along with a shop area that is nearly the size of another bay and an upstairs storage area……and I wish I’d gone bigger.

I wonder if we'll see entry models w/ less offroad bias for your typical daily driver (the pretenders, including us), then an upgrade path akin to Jeep Trailhawk with more offroad capability.

Thinking Scout should start with nothing less than all-weather 3PMSF tires, which are generally better in snow than offroad tires and good for use all year in moderate climates.

Were the original Scouts all taken off road, or were they pretending also? I’d say pot holes alone are a reason to have an SUV or truck.
