  1. 4-Cylinder Harvester EREV engine confirmed by CEO Scott! + 0-60mph, range, payload, towing specs discussions

Trying to imagine why a 3.5-4.5 second 0-60 time in a large, off-road oriented SUV would be something to be bummed about.
  2. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

UAW contract with VW isn’t state specific, so the state doesn’t have anything to do with it. Scout will try to use the “different company” approach, but they will have a fight on their hands. UAW is desperate to add new members and will likely be in SC organizing before VW hires the first line...
  3. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

they will have a hard time avoiding it now that Chattanooga is organized.
  4. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

VW in Chatt pays around $23/hour for no experience/high school grad now, but that will be going up at least 14% since that was their initial offer to the UAW after the vote last year. Pretty safe to bet Scout will be in line with whatever VW and the UAW settle on for their contract. I’d guess...
  5. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

Production is two (or more) years away. A hell of a lot can change between now and then, but the fact VW has already been discussing bringing Porsche and Audi production utilizing the VW plant in Chattanooga and the Scout plant tells me they are planning way ahead as a counter to any tariff...
  6. Removable doors

Yep. I have a Jeep, have never taken them off. Most Jeep owners I know have never taken them off. I’d guess the percentage of Bronco/Jeep owners that do it more than once, for the novelty of it, are in the single digits.
  7. Start of production coming late 2027 for Scout vehicles (update by Scout 1/20/25)

after a 3 year wait, what’s another 6 months. I have one EV for daily driving, don’t want a second one.
  8. Start of production coming late 2027 for Scout vehicles (update by Scout 1/20/25)

Legitimate concern considering the ID Buzz van that went on sale in Europe in 2022 (2024 here in the States) was originally shown as a concept at the NA Auto show in 2017. As a long time VW owner, they will drive you crazy waiting on new models.
  9. Start of production coming late 2027 for Scout vehicles (update by Scout 1/20/25)

With 50,000+ reservations and production ramp up time for a new plant thrown in to the equation (assuming all 50k reservations convert to sales), seems there is a good chance some current reservation holders wouldn’t see their vehicle until the 2029 model year.
  10. Retractable sun shade for glass roof

I’m guessing electrochromic, which is on the ID Buzz.
  11. Scott Keogh (CEO of Scout Motors) gives insight at CES on Traveler + Terra!

Just to add to that, he was the President of Audi USA prior to that. He came to Audi from Mercedes. Great track record and unlike many in leadership roles within VW, he understands the US market and consumer.
  12. Scout Traveler on-road model

Go bigger while it’s still easy. I have a three car with each bay oversized (length and width) along with a shop area that is nearly the size of another bay and an upstairs storage area……and I wish I’d gone bigger.
  13. Window Division Bar

I’m just baffled that people are concerned about it.
  14. Parking sensors and cameras

Backup camera is legally required in the US, but I would guess they will have a full compliment of cameras/sensors. Not much point sticking them on these two models they are using for the intro since they wouldn’t be functional and it’s not a final design.
  15. Bunch of pictures from Scout launch event!

Absolutely masterful job from the designers, and to make it even better, I don’t see a bit of piano black anywhere in that interior!!!
  16. Current EV owners: are you sticking with full-EV or switching to EREV Harvester Scout?

Where did you see 150 miles range? Scout is saying 350 miles EV range and 500 with the Harvester.
  17. Current EV owners: are you sticking with full-EV or switching to EREV Harvester Scout?

Currently have an ID.4 that I daily about 40 miles round trip and love it. For longer trips, I’d rather drive backroads/state highways over the Interstates though, so I’ll take my Jeep since the charging infrastructure just isn’t there. I’m going Traveler Harvester to be able to do the longer...
