As for the lights, I am more concerned with how well they actually work. A lot of modern vehicles have cool lights with mediocre performance. Crisp cutoffs for good glare control while having excellent spread and fill on low beam with great range added on high beam are my expectations.

The overall style is awesome but headlights are a major design cue these days, love it or hate it.

These unfortunately are too reminiscent of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. Which isn't a bad looking vehicle from the front, although the rear is horrendous and carries the same light pattern.

I sure hope they change them in the final design. Otherwise I'll always compare them in my mind.

Please Scout reconsider!

Is it just me?

OK, thanks, that’ fair. I thought about a Rivian but couldn’t get past the front end.
Yeah those Rivian head lights are strange, but that was part of it for me, they just work. If I didn’t have the Rivian the Scout would be on my list to test drive.

It’s wild how one design choice like that can make or break the look of a vehicle. Kind of like how a reliable engine setup can totally change the ownership experience, too. A buddy of mine had an older Hyundai iload, and when they needed a replacement, they found a reconditioned Hyundai iload engine that kept it going strong without breaking the bank. It's that kind of practical touch that keeps things running smooth even if the design quirks don’t win everyone over.

They also resemble Porsche's latest headlights a bit, but I still find the Scout lights distinctive enough and atttractive. I like them as-is and hope they don't change it up much. Who's with me?? ✊ :)

Headlights are “acceptable“, but plenty of room for improvement. Maybe put them in a square housing? Rivian headlights are cartoonish.

I have a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo with the optional adaptive Matrix lights that exhibits the four light points DAY OR NIGHT. Perhaps all Volkswagen Corporation vehicles will have some version of 4 point lights. This technology has been available in Europe 13 years and began on Audis.
The main feature is these shutdown select LEDs to not dazzle drivers in oncoming vehicles or when following. When I follow a vehicle I just see it in the dark with its tail lights. Works great! I've never had anyone flash their lights at me in spite of how bright the aimed beam can be I expect Scouts will have it too or at least optional. I also expect the NHTSA to make this mandatory on US vehicles by 2030 or so as the technology becomes more widespread and less expensive.

Only makes sense that Scout will borrow current VW Auto Group lighting tech.

Just throwing my 2 cents out there.
Hate the Rivian lights. Scout wins.
See the basic similarity claim with huyandai but I guess that’s the difference with a good design team. Scout looks remarkably better. Scout wins.
I understand people’s desire to stick closely (almost exactly mimic) the vehicle they’re redesigning but there has to be some moving into the future design freedom. I for one like the design.
Although that may be an easy decision as one coming from high hopes about Jeep bringing back the Grand Wagoneer. Imagine if scout did as bad as that…

reminds me more of the Porsche headlights, which i dont like either. however, im more concerned about the design of the headlight accumulating snow with those ledges under the lights.

I personally like the lights a lot. If they resemble anything it’s the Porsche but not really enough for me to care.
