Size... R1T is a little too small for a growing family.

Rear window doesn't drop down.

Bed, would like a bigger bed.

Kinda like the different frunk set up with the scout.

I guess the harvester option is cool... Might stay full EV though.

Mercedes S550 commuter and … 2 door bronco fun car (Bronco was stolen by my daughter). I have another daughter who will certainly steal whatever other fun car I get. So I’m - looking for a reasonably comfortable commuter that I can also use for fun on the off-road. And I’m EV curious.

also, the two-door bronco and the S550 coupe are both terrible for dragging our giant 80 pound dog around.

I like almost everything about my R1T except road trips. The Harvester will address the biggest issue for me - the number of times I need to charge - without me compromising capability and performance.

I tend to collect vehicles - so everyone has it's good points and deficiencies.

My wife has the people movers in the family. I tend to think work, dogs, and camping. Hate to give up those things, but AC while camping, plus people moving would be a nice compromise.

This week has been hard on my decisions though. I miss having a spare work truck. Wife has claimed dibs on towing till she gets a project over - and not being able to plan my tows for 2 weeks is driving me nuts. Hopefully the EV Traveler will be able to do my normal lighter, shorter tows (boat and lawnmower tows).

I want an EV, I don't want the extra complexity of an EREV - but it sure would open up or at least leave stress on some options.

I absolutely love my Rivian R1T! It did take me some time to get used to the screen configuration, and general changes going to a full EV. I have about 50K on mine at the moment and was really just looking at what options my next vehicle would have in a couple years and problems it would solve. I am ok with not having all the power of my Rivian as well as on road feel. But one of my biggest issues is just with range. Whether driving to Moab or fishing trips to Montana, my current ride just won't do it on electricity alone... Sure I'd rather have that solved with a bigger more efficient battery, but that is going to take some time. We really know very little what the Scout will end up having. But for $100.00 bucks to at least have my place in line if it actually exceeds my expectations at this point, I am on board!

I drive a Ford F-150 Raptor. The truck is amazing. It's a truck but rips like a sports car both on and off-road.
What I don't like is:
1) The suspension. It is designed for Baja running (which is fun) but the soft suspension sags when towing.
2) Getting 12.5 MPG on required Premium gas. (gas cost in CA is insane so $150 to fill up 35 gallons)

Improvements:
Range, towing capacity, bigger tire footprint when airing down, high performance.

Towing range seems to be the biggest issue that the Harvester engine will solve. Just wondering how it will maintain a steady SOC under a heavy tow load.

Since at least some of the Scout models will have air suspension, hopefully the Tow Mode will be able to stiffen up the rear suspension to avoid sagging.

Current rig is a '15 F150 XLT SuperCrew, 6.5' bed, FX4, bench seat, pano roof, 600+ miles of range. This spec isn't available from any manufacturer anymore so as much as I'd like to go electrified, I'd have to sacrifice a lot of what the old girl still gives me. The Terra with the Harvester and a bench seat is the closest to being what I need in a modern package.
We basically have the same vehicle, save the pano roof and FX4. The only thing I could think with the Terra that would make it more ideal is if I could get a 6.5’ bed on it. Otherwise, totally agree that it seems to be the closest approximation.

The 1000 ft lbs from 100% elect drive is what thrills me. Superb towing I'd reckon'.

Yeah it'll eat up the charge in spite of the generator playing catch-up but 500 miles range is a big envelope to play in. I'd say 250 miles Range towing max rating would be a good number.

The enunciator in our 3500 reads around 500 miles range when I fill up the tank. Then towing 22K# it samples the fuel burn and distance and in under 10 miles defaults to around the 260 mile range.

50% loss in range is a good towing benchmark number. I can live with that. Anything more is a bonus and the Scout may deliver much more because we're talking a whole new way of doing this with the onboard generator.

May get way, way more range and I'll be so slap happy, impossible to live with.

You Tube Towing tests with the GMC Denali EV are sensational all things considered. Add a generator to that,, wow!

The Scout Terra will replace my 2014 Tundra. Honestly it’s going to be hard to say goodbye to “Bear”. This truck has been extremely good to me and my family. 100% reliable, capable, utilitarian, comfortable, spacious, and good looking.

Like the Terra, the Tundra already has a power rear windshield, 5.5’ bed, and off-road capability.

What I’m most looking forward to with the Scout that I don’t have today is efficiency (getting 11.5-12 mpg), better acceleration, a bench seat, a vehicle that cools the cabin for me before I get in on hot days (and pet mode), a better stereo, better phone integration, a frunk, greater range, lower emissions, and in general all the newest tech.

A drunk driver took ours out.
Really loved that truck.
Toyota needs to reset and build trucks like those again.
