So you know what size generator this theoretical 3 cylinder engine will drive and what amount of power it needs to put out to achieve what Scott wants to do? Cool.
Cause noise sucks. What if the engine speed is not tied to the throttle and it just runs at peak efficiency, say 4000 RPM. Thats not a sound I want to hear.
It can be set up many different ways. Until the design comes out why even question it. Why won’t a three cylinder work. All it has to do is drive a generator. Too many unknowns.
My Rivian is two years old, 41000 miles and still drives like new. I plan a minimum of 100,000 miles. I’ll keep it longer than normal because I can’t afford anything that replaces it one for one. I got lucky with the introductory pricing on a quad R1T. I love the truck. I might move to...
It takes years, Tesla just opened a “ show room”, because of VT laws. Rumor is Rivian in maybe two years. Why not use a network already in place? I like the Scout, but enough to leave my Rivian.
Yeah because other trucks on the road weigh the same. I was behind a 3/4 ton sitting on a scale with nothing in it, 6800 lbs. The point is there are plenty of heavy vehicles on the road driving around every day without tire issues. Buy the right tire is the moral of the story.
The R1T only weighs 7000 lbs. So you buy tires to match that weight. I’ve had no issues with tires. Your buddy should try the Toyo A/T EV tires. I commute on paved roads a lot so I don’t like them for that, but they are a great tire.
I just put TOYO AT EV tires on my Rivian, heavy and battery sucking beast they are. I think at 55 lbs they are too heavy for the truck. I like them for off road, but will be switching back to OEM tires because I daily commute 76 miles a day.
Electric motors can turn very very slowly with a lot of torque. My Rivian in rock crawl moves very slow and all of wheels have power at the same time. I don’t rock crawl, but the times I use the setting for steep hills That are slippery it’s been great.
Yeah those Rivian head lights are strange, but that was part of it for me, they just work. If I didn’t have the Rivian the Scout would be on my list to test drive.
