150 is 20% of 750.

but if scout is saying it will start around 150 miles we might be seeing the QuantumScape Solid State Batteries in the scout harvester option. my guess is scout is saying it will have 500miles to be on the safer side because 750miles is ridiculous for a battery in this day in age.

His post suggests 150 miles is when generator kicks on having hit 20% SoC so true EV range would be 187 miles.

Did anyone notice this on the demo Terra? Grabbed this shot from a video post. Looks like there are options to engage the extender and even a way to possibly schedule it? It also shows something about a 50% charge limit.

Very cool! An adjustable charge limit makes sense since staying at 80% is good for battery health and charging usually slows down between 80 and 100%.

I’ve been trying to find a reference for this 150 mile battery thing, but the closest thing I’ve been able to find was “the generator turns on after 150 miles”, which is obviously not the same. I just can’t imagine they would say the harvester version would have a slightly smaller battery and then put in a battery with almost 60% less range.

I agree. I had only heard the 150 mile part and maybe I misinterpreted it. Makes much more sense that it would start well before you need it and I wasn’t aware you could turn it off.

Some good info in here. I hadn’t seen that second post from Jamie about the harvester so yes it sounds like the 150mi is just when the engine kicks on at 20%. Looks like the math works out to about half the battery of the EV only option, which is pretty good.

In response to the posts about us not wanting an EV by choosing harvester that seems a little silly to me. The reason I want it is we take trips and will be towing a camper multiple times a year. It’s a pain to charge a truck with a camper attached, there is usually just one charger you can pull up to without blocking anyone if you are lucky. The reason I want this over a traditional gas truck is it’s got the instant torque of an EV along with features like leaving the AC or heat on in the cabin but the convenience of gas and electric whichever is easier at the time (electric at home, gas on trips and maybe some electric at camp grounds if allowed). I have a 1st year Tesla Model 3 that I plan to keep because it’s great around town but in my opinion taking long trips sucks in a EV and is even worse if you are towing.
