Where are you shopping?!?! I just got back from grocery shopping.

dozen eggs $2.49
loaf of bread $3.09
bananas 55¢ a pound
ground beef $5.49 a pound
bacon for $4.79 a pound.

All in all, week worth of food for a family of 4 for around $150
Im a whole foods person. And i buy all the healthy stuff. And i said 20 items not 5.

Im only mucking around its still a bit more expensive than $150 for what i buy, its only me and my gf but my gf makes really extravagant dinners which is probably why i can walk out of whole foods wi the out spending 200+

Honestly I think EV tax credit is as good as dead. We'd need to lease then buyout to get the credit and own, so I suppose there's something to be said for simplicity and not bothering with all that.

I figure Scout will start mid/high-$50k, reaching $70k or so for mainstream configurations. We're still in.

What loss of credit does is remove more 'premium' EV alternatives much past that price point, but I really wasn't into anything too prissy anyways.

If I can still get a decently equipped vehicle for under $70K I will still make the switch to the EV. A tax break would have been great but it's not a deal breaker.

Ah, inflation. But the US inflation rate is the lowest it's been since 2021 at 2.6%. Better than most developed countries. So really, your dollar isn't worth just pennies.
In the US inflation is cumulative, like compound interest on a savings account. It went up and up for many years therefore the prices of everything have gone way up over time and have not come back down. Yes, the rate of inflation has come down but prices are still very high.

And our government is advertising 2.6% but they keep changing how it's calculated, i.e., putting in cheaper products and removing some completely from the equation. So the real cost to the consumer is actually more than the government is telling us. Kind of like peeing on our heads and telling us it's raining.

That’s like moving the goalposts and completely unfair.

Mid 50's, 2000 lbs payload, 10k towing.

That's it.

Don't care about propulsion method, politics, tax credits, apps, bluetooth bidets, literally anything else.

just need a fullsize truck that works for me at a price I can afford, nothing else.

My pricepoint for my next vehicle is notably higher than the 50-60k this may come in at. I'm expecting to option it up. Would love to be around 80k. Hoping they have leasing early on as I'd prefer not to buy as I expect notable issues the first few years. Let me 'rent' one for a few years and then I'll look at buying a more refined version a few years later.

I'd be aiming for a $1k/mo or less lease. Ideally closer to 700-800/mo.

A 4x4 based on electrical drive system with a gas "harvester" is what I'll buy. Scout Traveler would be best, if not there is a Pickup truck from another brand, but I really want an SUV. Scout seems to be first with that in 3-4 years (I still believe in Santa Claus, lol).

So you think 7500 will deter me? Think again.

P.S. Please stop to politize this Forum.
