This infographic shows how homemade and American the Scout Motors Traveler and Terra vehicles will be. And the Scout plant will employ up to 4,000 workers.

>80% of parts will be sourced in North America

>50% Suppliers located within 200 miles of the Scout plant in Blythewood, SC

Where will be the HV EV battery be sourced from ?
Most likely panasonic, quantum spaces, tesla(since thats the charging platform they are using so maybe the partnership expanded into the battery too) or rivian.

I hope it's not Rivian. Check out the "Out of Spec" recent road trip video, they have so many thermal throttling issues due to improper cooling.

Since these trucks are a few years out, I have my fingers cross for Factorial or Quantum Scape Solid State Batteries.

While information isn't posted yet where the battery will be sourced from, I have a feeling that it will be the most "proven", yet cost effective one available by 2027.

Which brings up an interesting point... think of how hard it must be for the people at Scout to predict what the future range will be, as well as the cost to produce a vehicle 3 years in the future will be, especially when we're talking about fast moving tech-research dependent parts like EV batteries.

The range estimate is a pretty simple calculation for the Engineers at Scout. They probably know how many Kwh’s they need for 350 miles. As long as they can fit enough batteries to provide that energy, the chemistry doesn’t matter a whole lot. The reason I want SSB’s is reduced degradation, decreased risk of fire, and weight.

I feel pretty confident that the range will under-promise (in a good way), yet OVERdeliver.

That is my thought about how they will reach range goals. There of course is a lot of engineering involved, and I believe part of the reason we don’t have HP numbers, but we have TQ numbers.

Range aside, I believe under-promise and over-deliver will be something that pleasantly surprises even optimists on the forum.

Performance vehicles have at times had drastic differences from posted HP/TQ numbers to what a dynamometer posts.
