I want a 2-door Scout 4wd pickup with a small (1-2') extended cab and an 8'' truck bed. I can put full 4x8' sheets of plywood in it and close a hard top for security.

There are a number of variations that could be in inline with the SUV, truck, off-road base they currently focusing on. That said, I assume they have no real desire to make direct competitors to other VW group vehicles - so I question mid sized and crossover vehicles. Going from 4wd SUV to Bronco/Jeep competitors broaden their base without competing with VW groups offerings. Likewise, any truck variations would also not compete with VW group offerings. While I would hate to wait longer - it would be tempting IF I thought a vehicle that would that fit even better.

The Terra looks like a very capable truck, but I need something both smaller and less expensive. That said I agree with others who have pointed out the advantages of coming to market with the big boys first.

Isn't the Traveler already a Wrangler & Bronco competitor with its capabilities and segment of buyers?
Yes, but with a solid roof and 4 doors its more of a Toyota 4-Runner, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Rivian R1S competitor.

I would consider a Wrangler/ Bronco competitor to have 2-door and removable roof options.

Fully removable top and doors models (2 and 4 door) to take on the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler directly. Sales of both are faltering, especially Jeeps. It's too bad these models aren't already available now, the reputation and public/owner perception of Stellantis is at all time low. Scout could wipe up the floor with removable top and doors model.

I'd love a midsize crew-cab pickup truck. Something comparable in size to a Tacoma, Colorado, etc.

Honestly I'm baffled by the comments wanting something ICE-only. You have lots of options there already. Go buy a Wrangler, Bronco, or Landcruiser.

I’m excited for an expanded lineup, but I really hope they focus on the current launch before putting too much effort into more models. I’m way too excited to get my Terra to entertain other options. That said, this platform under a midsize body would be amazing.

While true about Stellantis, the Bronco was supposed to wipe up the Wrangler too, but it didn't happen. For 2025, the Bronco is pretty much a mall crawler now.

I still think EV for off roading is a non starter (preception-wise). A 2-door removable top ORV is a unique animal. There are perceived quality issues that come with such a compromised design. The Bronco suffered greatly from it. Mall crawler owners have a difficult time accepting the extra road and wind noise that a removable top (and doors) design brings.

That's what I thought the Terra was until the specs came out. It might be too big for what I want.
