"Another item on the company’s punch list: “transparent” repair guides and manuals that are accessible to the end customer."
Yessss!! Finally no need to shell out hundreds for a service manual.
Me too. The Scout is a BIG vehicle. Thats why 20" wheels look so proper on it. And it can obviously still fit some big tires on it even with 20" wheels so it'll still wheel great.
That's great news for VW, Porsche, Audi EV owners. If Scout EVs were already out, I wonder if this would also include Scout, since it's not really a VW brand, but has connections to it.
Stunning shots Mike! Thank you for being our eyes on the Scout plant site over the next few years of construction. Please post updates as frequently as possible (weekly, bi-monthly).
Clear look at the air vents below the back of the bench seat from @Administrator's thread https://www.scoutevforum.com/forum/threads/public-debut-of-scout-traveler-terra-university-south-carolina-football-game-photos-video.11284/
I've actually never seen a vehicle undercarriage with Rhino / LineX spray liner applied (either from factory or aftermarket). Probaby bc not a good idea to coat everything with a thick coating. Repairs would be tough as everything would be stuck together by the liner spray material.

Roof option (like front bench) isn't an official choice yet in the online reservation process but Scout reps have confirmed that there will be 3 roof types - glass, cabana, steel. So the roof and bench seat questions here are just asking which do you think you'll order when given the option.
I think you're referring to electrochromic glass roofs?
The VW ID Buzz and ID.7 both have a "Electrochromic Smart Glass Roof" option available now. It can switch from clear to opaque.
Here's how that looks and works:
Some factory IBC (integrated brake controller) are time-based controllers vs. certain aftermarket ones (like Prodigy) that are inertia-based. If this was the case, then an aftermarket one could be a better choice.
For sure there'll be multiple Scout stores / service centers aka Workshops at the outset in both California and Texas. Look at the concentration of reservtations so far!
from the stats...
Surprised only 11-12% would prefer 2 pedal driving. I remember when the Teslas and BMW i3 first came out, people panned their 1 pedal driving as like driving a golf cart. Seems that negative image has faded and now prefer greatly prefer it.
And yea I vote for 1 pedal driving as well.
Would like to see an electrochromic glass roof option. The VW ID Buzz and ID.7 both have "Electrochromic Smart Glass Roof" option now so the technology is available for Scout Motors to easily adopt for the glass roof on the Traveler and Terra.
Here's some looks at how it works / looks
If Scout has a R2 / R3 competitor already designed somewhere on a drawing board, they'd be wise to tease it or show a concept before the R2 hits the market in 2026. Bet that would put lots of R2/R3 reservation holders on notice and perhaps wait to learn more about the Scout competitor before...
Eventually offering smaller models like Rivian R2 & R3 would be a good move. Those would offer the most mass market appeal at a lower price and size. But I'm glad Scout came out to market with the full sized Traveler and Terra first. Much bigger splash and also profitability for the company.
