I’ll keep my Terra harvester reservation for now, but my PowerBoost F-150 search is going to get more serious for the near term. And hopefully my work adds a Ramcharger to its test fleet whenever they finally drop, though the 400v architecture is certainly less appealing. By then maybe some more...
Man, I’ve been so excited about this thing, but if the 5,000 lb tow rating holds on the Terra harvester, I’m out. I can pull my camper with an 11 year old Nissan Frontier, but not with the scout I reserved. Pull through chargers are not nearly enough places for the pure ev when towing for me...
I’m torn… the console storage is significantly better but the wife and dogs would be happier with the bench on road trips… we probably need to see both in person to make a final decision.
I agree it’s a super cool feature that would definitely have a place in a top trim model of any vehicle. That said, I’m not a top trim level buyer. I’m not spending extra money for that feature, but if it’s packaged with something that’s a must have for me, I would welcome it.
Until the Terra I haven’t been excited enough about any EVs to put down a reservation. I’m probably going to pick up a used PowerBoost F-150 this spring to hold me over the (I’m guessing) 3+ years until I actually see my Terra.
The full size truck market is too competitive for Scout to play too...
For me, the best part of a solid read axle is no CVs. I definitely would prefer it stays that way. Now a system that locks up the rear inner brake at full lock while off-road, I’m good with that.
I’m excited for an expanded lineup, but I really hope they focus on the current launch before putting too much effort into more models. I’m way too excited to get my Terra to entertain other options. That said, this platform under a midsize body would be amazing.
I hadn’t even considered it wouldn’t have one integrated. I have never understood the desire for an aftermarket solution over integrating one from the factory.
In my mind, the best option for this is the 2.0l flat four turbo from the Cayman, like scout4wd said. Not digging into the VW group parts bin would be a mistake. They can cut millions in development costs. Don’t get me wrong, diesel could be fantastic but not worth the drawbacks.
