What’s s everyone's thoughts on Project StarGate?

Do we think it will have some sort of Breakthrough on Energy Production for clean energy? )Not Wind farms, or Other Things)

Besides Health Services and Energy what else do we think it will do, lets think about Automotive Industry, Engines and EV motors, Creating some sort of ICE engine that will stay?

What could it do to help Scout Motors? Via StarGates breakthroughs.

Hadn't heard of it until this post. My limited googling looks like it's a black hole to pour billions of dollars in.

Cancer "vaccines" in 48 hours????

Larry Ellison contended that Stargate could lead to the AI-facilitated production of mRNA vaccines against cancer, and that such vaccines could be designed "robotically," or by leveraging AI, "in about 48 hours."

Thats a big point i’ve been seeing. Cancer Vaccines Aren’t really that exotic the UK and Russia have them, just shows how behind the World Health Organization had the USA.

I think whats impressive about it is that they are tailored for each individual something that makes the big mRNA vaccines(flu, covid, etc) not so efficient and effective for everyone is how they aren’t made for each person.

Didn't we learn anything from the Terminator series?

All kidding aside - AI scares me, how do you validate an AI design? With more AI?

To clarify - I'm a retired software engineer - I saw a little bit of code generated by AI for doing simple things like compression and encoding/decoding video. The code was extremely difficult to understand much less maintain. So maybe it was better maintained by additional AI rather than humans...

AI restrictions and regulations LOL, the thing is smarter than everyone, like it wouldn’t know how to beat a regulation.

AI, as far as the automative industry, will likely be instrumental in finding new chemistries/designs to power EVs.

I think a primary focus will be centered on defense and intelligence. The recent emergence of China's DeepSeek R1 that outperforms every American LLM despite restrictions on exports of advanced chips and hardware as well as the massive fraction of cost of investment has alarmed government and military leaders. I expect other defense-focused AI companies like Palantir and Anduril to be involved with Stargate in some capacity in the future.

"When machines become smarter than humans, then humans become redundant"
That quote always seemed far in the future when I first read it in a 60's Si-fi book, now not so much.

Larry Ellison wants an AI big brother built in the US that watches everyone and categorizes "threats"....can't see anything going wrong with that.....

Probably No different than what our phones do today and what they report back to the FCC.
Not the FCC, just Google and Apple, why I use a VPN on all of my devices.

You realize this so-called project is mostly smoke and mirrors right now don’t you? There is no $500B. Like Softbank’s announcements, it’s all for show. Aspirational at best. Charades at worst.

My wife worked extensively with mNRA / Cancer research.

Her take:
It had a rough start early on but now is used in some cancer treatments with success.

BTW: The Covid Vax is a mNRA. At least the one I got was.
I digress on how that turned out.
