  1. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

If you're better and smarter than all us spoiled brats who don't realize this has "so much time to play out" then what are you even doing here? Get back to all your winning. I'm busy paying attention to the world and taking my 401k out of stocks before the market dropped 10% cause I think we're...
  2. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

Yes, but he already gave away his game plan the first administration. Everyone knew he was going to do tariffs and were prepared for it this time. They knew how he was going to fight and how they could fight back. The only thing he can do now is escalate and further alienate our former allies. A...
  3. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

Don't worry guys he has a plan to keep prices from going up..... Threaten companies to make less profit! https://newrepublic.com/article/193352/trump-car-tariffs-vehicle-auto-ceo-wrecks-spin :computerrage: Don't worry. In a couple of years being able to afford the new Scout will probably be...
  4. 80% Repairable

Some of you may die, but that's a risk they're willing to take! Kidding, but check out some videos of people doing battery work. It really isn't that bad. A battery is a battery. Check out Edd China fixing a Nissan.
  5. 80% Repairable

I'll rebuild a battery pack if I need to.
  6. RAM 1500 Ramcharger - Blueprint for Scout

I put a deposit on this when it came out too, but I really like the Scout concept so much more. Plus .........Stellantis is a huge red flag. I'll be watching it though, especially the final price, and keeping my options open.
  7. Opinion: Why the Scout nails it for EV Trucks / SUVs: Towing & Long Distance Trips

I genuinely think the trailers with batteries are really cool....but you're just adding more charge time with each battery so you gotta hope those extra batteries get you to your location and then spend a day or two charging instead of half a day. I want one of those trailers though so that I...
  8. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

Why are you on a forum for a vehicle that doesn't go on sale until 2027? And why are do you think it's "spazzing" to bring up something that's real and happening? You don't have to "spaz" if you don't want to. I certainly am not. If a base model ends up costing $80k then I'll move on to...
  9. Opinion: Why the Scout nails it for EV Trucks / SUVs: Towing & Long Distance Trips

The point about taking another day was the actual charging time not range anxiety. I'm sure there's plenty of chargers not too far out of the way of anywhere, but I don't want to just hang out and wait that long on the road. I've heard there are charging stations that are starting to be built...
  10. Opinion: Why the Scout nails it for EV Trucks / SUVs: Towing & Long Distance Trips

EREV is perfect for me. 150 miles will get me to almost everything I do, but it's going to be a long time before I trust charging infrastructure. Plus as Doug Demuro pointed out, to drive an EV across the country, charging would add an extra day to the trip. That's an extra hotel stay too. I...
  11. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

Expecting it to come in at the exact price is insane, but a possible 25% difference is not.
  12. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

I'm staying on board, and similar to what ToadB said, even if it weren't refundable the $100 isn't a big deal. Just trying to get a feeling for what everyone else is seeing in the world and if it's the direction they're hoping for or expecting. The main point being the Scout loses a lot of its...
  13. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

There are things you can do about like calling your congressmen. You can control it in two years and vote more EV friendly people into office, and people that may have the sack to pull away tariff powers from the executive branch. Those should have only been temporary when it first given to the...
  14. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

Even if those numbers are true now $45k average won't be a well compensated salary in a couple years at this rate. Ford is losing money on all their EV's so I'm guessing a 30% gross profit is definitely for entertainment purposes only. But oh well, I guess no one else is concerned on how things...
  15. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

They will need to recoup their costs of building their factories now in this current environment, and those costs are shooting up. Don't you think there's a reason they're starting production in 2 years, and not today?
  16. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

We got a lot of our steel in the US from Canada. Battery bits from china. This will affect the cost of building their plants in the US too.
  17. Is Scout dead in the water? I'm not buying it at a 10-25% tariff added cost.

Scout initially said they were trying to come in well under $60k and then there were tax incentives planned on top. This seemed extremely reasonable to me and I put my deposit down. Tariffs are now a reality, and with a hostile administration on EV's, there's just no way in a couple years time...
  18. Removable doors

I never had mine on my previous jeep unless I was in a long road trip. That was the point of a jeep to me. (YMMV) I would love to be able to take the doors off the scout.
  19. Project StarGate (NO POLITICAL STATEMENTS)

Larry Ellison wants an AI big brother built in the US that watches everyone and categorizes "threats"....can't see anything going wrong with that.....
