Depends on who you ask, where you are, and what shop you compare with the factory option. Could Scout, if they so chose to offer a factory option, wrap a car similar than an independent shop, yes. The problem is, depending on your area, many shops would do a way better job than the factory and charge similarly. It's just a matter of your area and how much work you want to put in to find one. In a state like Colorado, I'd be surprised if you had a shortage of options.Anyone plan to wrap their Scout in PPF Paint Protection, XPEL, Clear Bra? I assume Scout Motors will offer a factory PPF option like many manufacturers have been doing. Pros or cons for going with factory option vs. independent aftermarket wrap shop?
“Factory wrap” is always a post production application. I’d rather use a good aftermarket shop that will remove/replace decals, mirrors, door handles, badges etc and take the time to do edges and small parts correctly.Anyone plan to wrap their Scout in PPF Paint Protection, XPEL, Clear Bra? I like that idea - that would help with branch scratches too... How do they hold up against power-washing?I will probably be getting a matte clear wrap over the color and stripes I decide on.
Good you just have to follow same rules when you normally wash a car with wrap, dont hit the edges directly since you can peel it right off, maintain safe Distance, ect. Usually depends on what brand since some turn yellow for the UV. I have SunTek on my Countryman. I have tint, PPF clear not matte. It hasn’t turned yellow on me and its been on the car since 2019 when i got the Countryman.I like that idea - that would help with branch scratches too... How do they hold up against power-washing?
Scout will most likely use EXPL since Rivian can get them in a relationship with EXPLFactory wrap is done post build at dealer location or whomever they contract with. That isn't always the best but what is good about it is that you can roll it into the financing. Versus what I did and paid out of pocket for my Bronco. Let's also acknowledge that Stealth PPF is expensive. Over 5K where I'm located and that was already 2500 cheaper than the dealer.
