I live in Austin, TX and have been absolutely shocked at how fast Tesla built their gigafactory here and made it operational. Hopefully Scout can follow suit with their factory.

I have a dad in construction he looked at all the pictures from the beginning of it to now. He believes it will be done by mid 2026.
Building will ready, but bringing in robots, testing them, working out the communications between the robot stations etc is a slow process.

Ohh I know that I mean the construction part. I Know that tooling is a lot more work than anything else. But with VW behind them it could be done faster since they have a lot more experience with factories.

thanks for the update. Can't wait to see what the on-site offroad driving experience course will look like.

The body shop is the largest building. Are they expecting a lot of work after the vehicles roll off the assembly line? :)
Idk much about vehicle production but I doubt that area is a massive collision center haha.

That's undetermined yet, but sounds like UAW will be trying to unionize the Scout Motors plant workers at Blythewood, SC

New Scout plant could be UAW target as union expands efforts to SC

I would really rather they didn’t for one reason International was a UAW manufacturer, and it was what ultimately killed them. Since they went on strike for 5 months after that happened they killed off models and sold to CASE.

YOU DON’T WANT HISTORY TO REPEAT ITSELF.

The issue with Unions are they start off fine, with good intentions, then thru greed want more and more until the company either prices themselves out of the market or goes bankrupt. Stellantis/GM is in big trouble, Ford has raised prices where a F150 costs you your life savings. A big reason why the used vehicle market is thriving. I have nothing against Unions, as they improve working conditions and help insure a living wage, but some, like the UAW, are all about greed. (my apologies to anyone in the UAW) I would prefer Scout not go union as long as they take care of their workers. <jmo>
