I'm skeptical of the range numbers, convince me I'm wrong :)

It's no different than my Ranger ICE, Ford claims 24MPG, but I am lucky to get 18, and all I have done is level the front. This is the case with every vehicle, those epa estimates are done on a level track at a constant speed with a pro driver and a tail wind.

EPA number is 55% City/45% highway. EV'S do better in the city.

Don’t forget that range isn’t as big of a deal as how fast you can charge, between the speed it’s going in and how close the chargers are to your route

I'm guessing they'll hit the target under EPA testing, but real-world performance will totally depend on how you drive and where you drive, just like pretty much every other vehicle (ICE or EV) out there.
Absolutely!

Absolutely, I'd happily trade off maximum range for faster charging speed. That said, I'm not towing and here in California the Superchargers are plentiful. Tesla's software nav/routing is so good we have far less range anxiety. No other BEV manufacturer is even close. I hope Scout can properly exploit the Supercharger Network. That may be the difference between success and failure.

Having a Tesla now, it will be interesting to see how traffic at Superchsrgers will be now that Tesla is opening it up to most EVs. That, I believe, will be a crossroad for the industry.

I agree, the Target store near us just installed 12 superchargers, with 2 being drive thru reserved for larger trucks or vehicles towing. We now have 210 EV chargers in my town, with 17 being owned by the city and are free to use.

That's one reason I'm considering a 2 yr lease on the Ioniq 5. 800V architecture means 10 to 80% at a high (240+) KV charger in less than 20 minutes.

Well I’m sure this was brought up when gas vehicles became popular how gas stations traffic would be handle.

with battery technology getting better charging times will become lower. And it will all get sorted out. And not ever Is on the same schedule and route.

Agree and also with EVs, most will have the advantage of being able to refuel at home, at a hotel, etc.

Ford Mach E
I have a Ford Mach E. Much more like a sedan vs an SUV but similar range 300 miles. Generally, you don’t fully charge your battery, you run it down to 20%, then charge up to 80%. I believe this extends the life of the battery. That cuts down your range. The main “killer” of range is cold weather. That cuts range by 25%. Kudo’s to Scout for adding the range extender - great idea. That said, I love having an EV. Going 0-60 in 3.5 seconds is awesome. You may not think you want/need that acceleration but you will love it. Also, you never charge outside of your home unless you are on a road trip. Having a home charging station is great. Like having a gas station in your garage.

So that's why scouts didn't open there plant in Nebraska it would cut down on their EPA numbers they think of everything

I’m guessing the 350 miles of range is going to be pretty accurate. There’s rumors of Solid State Batteries being deployed by then, and regular NMC batteries are improving every year. The future will not be gains in efficiency, range increases will come from greater energy density batteries and weight savings.

Honestly, for the market these trucks are aimed at, we better hope they’re cramming as much batteries as they can in the frame. Anyone that tows at all with an EV will tell you that it’s amazing and miserable at the same time. The low CoG and incredible torque make for an easy time, but the range is so severely impacted it’s frustrating. I’m hoping Scouts have at least 150kwh usable battery packs.

A bunch
I'd count on realistically getting 75% of stated range.

I would not count on mystical super batteries coming along and getting plopped in in the meantime.
