We only saw the cabana top on the Traveler SUV yesterday. Anyone know if Terrain Truck will also get the cabana power soft top as an option??
Retractable rear window would be real sweet. The Terra page kinda implies it. Under exterior features —> retractable rear window, it says “roof open”. Not sure of that necessarily means cabana roof, but some sort of openable roof
It looks similar in concept to the Jeep retractable fabric top. I know it's had issues in the past as far as leaks and getting stuck are concerned. Let's hope the Scout engineers do this one better.I need to see more details on the cabana roof. Wife was initially for it and then immediately remembered we live in an area that can get thunderstorms. How sturdy is when when driving through one? Also, how much noise will it make while driving?
So, I'm more inclined to get the giant moonroof, hoping there is some sort of shade for it.
Agreed, the retractable rear window would be amazing. I've always absolutely loved those on the Tundras.Retractable rear window would be real sweet.
I had a 2019 Jeep Wrangler with the retractable top. It was fantastic. Did not leak (even in high pressure car wash) and it was quiet. No issues at all and I really wish I had it in my Gladiator. Maybe they’re having issues as they age but I was sitting here thinking I hoped Scout would do as good of a job with the top as FCA did on the Jeep.It looks similar in concept to the Jeep retractable fabric top. Jeep managed to avoid common leak problems with their version of cabana top (Sky One Touch Power Top), so it can be done right. The biggest issue for owners who are sensitive to cabin noise is that soft tops in general are just louder. No way to avoid that; it's just physics.Cabana top looks cool, but to me screams leaking and reliability problems.
Are there any options out right now on any cars that have moon roofs where you can switch the modes. Like say you want the moon roof clear and see through but then you want to block out the suns rays and you can switch the mode on it?I need to see more details on the cabana roof. Do we know if its fabric or a canvas material? Only because canvas is a bit more robust then fabric. If not, maybe Jamie would have an answer.Jeep managed to avoid common leak problems with their version of cabana top (Sky One Touch Power Top), so it can be done right. I think you're referring to electrochromic glass roofs? Are there any options out right now on any cars that have moon roofs where you can switch the modes. Like say you want the moon roof clear and see through but then you want to block out the suns rays and you can switch the mode on it?
Most likely they are all just tinted.
