2024 Bronco Everglades and 2024 Grand Highlander
Thanks for the info! So, I travel from NC to NY (~700+ miles one way) once a month and I'd need this vehicle to be up to that task with minimal downtime. Right now I use a 33mpg 2024 Grand Highlander (I carry a bunch of stuff). Since I'm going for the Traveler Harvester, and that's 150ev +350 gas, what would a 700+ mile trip look like? Just stop for gas? Or stop and charge? How often / for how long? THANK YOU.

That almost certainly means the EREV battery will be made of 3.2v LiFePO4 cells, while BEV will be 3 6-3.7v LiNMCxx. The addition if a gas tank won't reduce the EREV pack volume by half, so the can get the target range with lower energy density cells (compared to rhe BEV).
A slower 0-60 time was a given regardless of battery chemistry, because a pack with half the capacity (kwHr) will also have half the max power output (kw).

But 3.5 sec vs 4.5 sec 0-60 time only matters to people who will not mainly be using it as truck anyway. Either one is plenty quick.

Those peak power outputs could also have a significant impact on some off-roading performance. I have not spent a lot of time driving in sand, but I was surprised how much power it seemed to take pushing through soft sand.

Hmm...yeah I'm starting to re-think my choice of the BEV. 150 miles should allow me to run on electric power 95% of the time but not have to stop and rapid charge on longer trips. Luckily I probably don't have to decide for another 1.5-2 years anyway.

1). BEV battery will be in the "120's-130's" kWh, EREV will be "60's-70's", but the battery chemistries may be different.
2). Performance of EREV will be 0-60 in 4.5 vs. 3.5 for BEV, due to a "less expensive chemistry".
3). Confirmed the 350 mi BEV range. EREV has a 150-mile range, with Harvester adding 350 miles.
Well, that validates my BEV choice. My threshold for getting my first BEV (2023 Rivian R1S quad motor) was a max range at least 300 miles; I have ZERO desire to have a battery pack that gets less than that.

Also, 0-60 in 4.5s is glacial coming from a Rivian R1S quad that does 0-60 in 3s. I'd have to give up my trash talking of my wife's Cayenne's performance. 😀

Well shoot! While 0-60 times are often dismissed as not important, it is a measuring stick to comparing vehicles. Scout said sub 3 second, right? Now it’s 3.5 and a second more in Harvester? Larger Rivian R1 and smaller R2 are better and already out or coming next year so even more disappointing to wait two more years for something that will be even less stellar. So what do we have left to hope for? That it’ll look like and have the quality of these prototypes? If not, then Rivian will be the Acura to this Honda, Xfinity to this Nissan, you get it.

Seriously bummed.

Scout has always said 3.5 since the Tennessee reveal. I haven't heard any quoted number that was better.

Well, I have to decide if I am switching to the BEV or canceling my order. 150 miles range on battery isn't what I was wanting on the Harvester version. Ugh.

I'm a little disappointed it's not 250 ev range in the harvester that's the magic number to do a lot of there&back trips because I'm expecting to get a much smaller % on that quoted range.
Its actually been said by plenty of people that every number scout has quoted so far is an underestimate and that the real number is most likely higher.

Trying to imagine why a 3.5-4.5 second 0-60 time in a large, off-road oriented SUV would be something to be bummed about.

Everyone these days expects to have a Rimac Nevera 0-60 times. 3.5-4.5 is still faster than most vehicles on the road today.

Dual-motor Rivian 0-60 is 3.4 seconds. That's comparable with a dual-motor Scout. The Tri-motor Rivian is $20k more and starts around 100k. The quad-motor is over $110K. Performance comes at a price. `Scout will not be a boring vehicle.

Yup. And in the next 2 years the battery formulas could very well change and make those times improve.
