So, does that mean that the 5,000LB comment was a mistake?
If it was, I think Scout would have made an official comment / correction about it already. The 5K payload capacity mentioned in the episode has gotten a lot of attention online and Scout must know that.

I'm planning to keep my reservation as-is for now. We are pretty far out from getting solid information since they are literally still doing the engineering for these vehicles. Once we have solid commits on specs, I will decide if I want to keep the Harvester option or not.

I placed my reservation in January, so hopefully there is some real world testing before I make the final commitment. Also it sounds like they will churn out Travelers first since that is the majority of reservations, so I may have even more time. We shall see!

The Scout Terra truck, which includes the EREV model, offers a towing capacity of over 10,000 pounds, making it suitable for heavy-duty tasks in areas like Wyoming . This capability is complemented by its nearly 2,000 pounds of payload, allowing for substantial load carrying
Can you confirm the plan is for the EREV model to be able to tow 10,000 lbs while running on gas. From the Jay's Garage video it sounded like it would only be able to do 10,000 lbs when in EV mode and then be limited to 5,000 lbs when running off the harvester.

I'm also in the same situation where 5,000 lbs when going longer distances than the battery would provide wouldn't work for me so I'm looking at the Ramcharger again.

Sticking with the BEV for now, but would like to see an extended range version to get closer to the Rivian max range.

The Scout Traveler Suv is anticipated to have a towing capacity of over 7,000 pounds but there isn't any indication on the towing capacity for the Traveler EREV variant in any of our provided sources. The Leno interview suggesting that the EREV's towing capacity might be less than the BEV is not directly addressed in the available information. Therefore, while the towing capacity for the standard Traveler is known, the exact figure for the EREV remains unspecified in the sources reviewed.

I do understand the J Leno interview has everyone buzzing but we don't want to put out any misleading information that hasn't been appropriately released yet. As of now the exact figure for the EREV remains unspecified. My apologies for any confusion, Doug.

I flipped flopped from TERRA w/harvester to now the Traveler w/harvester main reason is when I am back home after I finish my 20 years in the USCG end of next year I won't have much need for a truck and also the driveway back home is not great in size so it feels like the Traveler will work better for my needs. Better for family storage and looking forward to trips with my nephews and niece.

Question for the forum? Does anyone know if the Bench seat is also an option for the Traveler?

Yest, it is an option in both cars.

I’m very disappointed with the towing capacity for the Terra Harvester. What’s the point of a full size truck that can only tow 5000lbs? Going to keep my reservation for now but will be looking at the RamCharger if nothing changes by production.

Bench Seat, as the CEO has said many times, will be available in the Traveler, unless they change what they have said to date.

Have they watched the Jay Leno and CEO of Scout discussion?

I am keeping my Traveler Harvester reservation for now. My wife and I are just starting to shop for an RV travel trailer and are planning to buy something we can tow with our Ridgeline, which has a 5000 pound tow rating. I was looking forward to the 7000+ pound rating for the Traveler to give us the option for a little bit larger trailer in a few years when I retire and we likely take longer trips.

The video was pretty set in stone, EREV max towing 5k. That said, Jamie has already responded in a different forum that it is not set in stone.

I was slightly on the fence and went with the BEV and waiting for more information on EREV. Mostly because I thought there would be times, while towing, the EREV would open up better options. At the moment, that does not appear to be the case. So actually, the additional data just supported my original decision more. As it stands, the EREV would cost me more options than add.
---
A lot of this all depends on future information. I am curious to the exact "why" the towing capacity is 1/2'ed. If it is just because of the marketing and design decision to be about to drive at a "steady state" at 70mph. It still might be possible to tow more in dedicated max performance mode (which would require charging and refueling on trips). The real question then is what the combined range would be when towing 5k lbs+. Of course that depends on the why. If it is a limitation in the electric power train - then that limitation will exist with or without the harvester running continuously.

We love EV's so much, we're starting to think getting a gasoline boosted vehicle is cheating, like playing baseball with a corked bat, or when the wife got Saline implants, or when my dad put JC Whitney Mickey Mouse whitewalls on his VW.

Ya wonder if the Gasoline version Harvester will hold it's resale value better?

Starting to think we really don't need the Harvester, and if it's almost a $10K option that may be reason enough to stick to Battery only.
