Will there be a midgate option on the Terra to load through into the cabin

Some of the newer Pickup truck models offer a midgate option to extend the length of the bed. That would be a great option to make the pickup truck more versatile. Any plans to have this as an option? This option is available on Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV pickups and Ford seems to be working on something as they filed a patent for a midgate in '22.

This might be helpful for making the truck bed with a topper into a sleeping area for taller people.

If extending the bed for camping purposes is a goal, I suggest looking into the toppertent, it seems like a simple/ quick solution to the short bed to stretch out. Softopper has their own version too but it looks strange and a bit cumbersome.

I would still prefer a midgate to open up so I can use heat and AC.

The rear window is confirmed to be able to be retracted, this will give some access to the cab for HVAC while camping.
I would not expect there to be a mid gate option, that would require a unibody construction and from what I can tell, the cab and bed are seperate.

Yup love the back window roll down. I've always been jealous of the Tundra, but this vehicle kinda is a unibody right? It all sits on a massive flat battery pack that the body is built on. I'm not sure if there's a technicality of why this wouldn't be a unibody?

Both the Terra and Traveler are going to be body on frame. In unibody the body has structural members built into it and the drive train components bolt to that. In body on frame there is a separate structural frame that the drive train components attach to and the body sits on top as a separate piece. Makes for a stronger design and better suited for any abuse thrown it's way while off road. For Scout it looks like they plan on installing the battery packs inside the frame area to use that available space and help to keep the batteries protected. I'm not sure how the batteries are attached on most other electric vehicles that are unibody but i would assume there's just a built in recess in the underside of the body that a separate battery pack housing fits and bolts into.

This is just what i see from looking at photos and videos, but the Terra has a clear deliniation between the cab and bed which is like a typical pickup truck that you could remove the bed seperate from the cab. Theoretically we could remove the factory bed and install a flatbed or service body on the Terra. (this is is speculative). This would make it much more difficult to install a mid gate transition since there would be 2 body panels that need to be passed through, Ambulances typically do tis with an accordian looking rubber seal.

Im not saying it is impossible, but it would be extremely expensive and prone to leaking, so I highly doubt that they would do it.

The trucks with the mid gate, i.e, Silverado EV, Chevrolet Avalanche (the origional truck with a midgate, which was built more like an Suburban than a Silverado), Hummer EV, Cybertruck all have the body and bed combined (unibody construction) making it way easier to put a mid-ship pass through from the cab to the bed.
