I don't like the look of the spare tire on the back. I much prefer the clean, elegant, streamlined look at the back. It would be nice to see an option without it.

You can have the 33" stored under the vehicle, I think?

It certainly seems possible. I don't see how they're going to be able to fit both a spare tire and the Harvester engine underneath though. I suspect the Harvester will either include the external tire or one in the cargo area.

I don't think we've seen any confirmation from Scout that's its optional, carriage alternatives vs. tire sizes, etc. Just a vague notion of alternatives being considered, etc. And nothing about whether spare can be stored underneath and/or in cargo space.

CES display not only had spare on tailgate but fuel supply too. Hope that's not an indication of doubling-down on blocking easy access to split tailgate. But that vehicle was also marked as 'Harvester' so could be indication that there's not enough room underneath for both generator + spare?

I don't remember where I read it, but the Terra's supposed to be able to have the spare (<33") undercarriage and 35" in the bed (meh)...similar to the traveler...but good point, as it wasn't determined if harvester status would affect stowage.

The original Scout II upkicked beltline style in the rear Traveltop (C-pillar) was also there to help conceal the spare tire stowed against the rear quarter panel. Looks like the new Traveler will have sufficient packaging rear overhang room to do the same, at least for a 31", or at worst, an inflatable mini-spare.

Hope the 33" tire option will fit in the tire carrier also.

Maybe the swing-out tire carrier is optional but the location of the spare isn't. Think of Jeeps. Their spares are on the tailgate but you can purchase aftermarket tire carriers that swing out.

Doesn't a Wrangler tailgate swing open horizontally? Scout hatch lifts up vertically, and the drop down tailgate is small.

Watch this Nevo EV YouTube video that was recently released. Dwayne Jackson, Scout's VP of Interior Design, talks about Scout. He confirms the external carrier is optional. He also swings it open and you can see the gas can does not interfere.
