With the right exterior color, a two-tone red or blue (with black/white and even with plaid/tartan inserts) would be great. Too much gray or black is dull and boring.
Rivian's under floor spare is well thought but that design is a no-go with Harvester. I would rather have a collapsable spare that would fit in the frunk; or perhaps mount against the rear-left quarter panel behind the wheel-well, like the Scout II (mounting the spare there is the main reason...
One other point is that the Harvester engine cooling system, during cold conditions and while changing, can be an efficient way to heat both the cabin and the 800v batteries without using the heat pump.
My prediction is that the Harvester engine starter cycle will utilize the (800v) generator and batteries as a generator/starter. No separate 12v starter is necessary.

The Scout marketing strategy is for it to be a full American endeavor - and it is. Selling alongside VWs, Porsches & Audis would be incompatible. We're not making and selling Kubelwagens here. VW is the primary investor only. Scout needs to let us have a piece of the action and issue an IPO.
Premium may also be recommended due to the extended time the generator may not be run. Higher octane fuel will buy more time before 'old gas' with lower octane may cause damage.
Having to package, haul around and maintain a gas electric generator (including of course a fuel tank, exhaust system, cooling system, etc) defeats one of the greatest benefits of an EV. Anyone with a Tesla knows how quickly you can supercharge; and more stations are coming on line every day...
