How close must a Scout Service Center location be to you? Poll

I will drive up to 45 minutes but that’s likely my limit. Anything further away or that forces me to drive through a big city is likely a no-go. How about you? And yes, I’m aware they are planning a mobile service network but there’s a limit to what these folks can do.

I currently drive 1 hour 50 minutes for service on my Kia PHEV. It’s the nearest dealer for me. Being a PHEV, I’m reluctant to take it somewhere local. There aren’t many PHEVs in my town. I’d be willing to do the same with my Scout.

But if 80% is able to be worked on in the Field you would only really need to bring it to a center of for major work

For sure. We’ll have to see what the field techs can work on. I don’t know what teething problems these first run vehicles will have.

If they truly go through with Right-To-Repair and release shop manuals and tools to diagnose then I'm fine going up to an hour probably since the minor things I'll do myself, or that will allow shops to pop up and do.

Agreed, that’s kinda why I specified warranty work.

30 minutes in my region is the most for me. Beyond that becomes too far to drop off and get picked up so it can be serviced.

Yeah I would say 30 minutes but I agree depending on if they will have loaners available I could go upto an hour away for a SCOUT service center. But this also depends how much work needs to be done if just bringing in for an update I could just wait for my TERRA to be finished so no need for a shuttle back home or loaner.

I chose 1 hour, but my answer is closer to 45 minutes and it depends on other factors like do they pickup and drop off the vehicle, if not do we get round trip transportation, do we get a loaner, do we have to find our own way back home and back to service center, etc. 45-60 minutes will be an expensive uber if you friends or family can't shuttle you.

Up to an hour is probably OK. I tend to do most maintenance & repair work myself. So unless there is free scheduled maintenance for some initial period, a warranty issue or something I can't fix myself, I won't be taking it places for service.

I see the poll is about time and not miles. An hour for me may be less than 35 miles passing through Tacoma to get to Seattle (for example). I submitted my vote for an hour based on my area.

I’ve driven about 2,000 miles with a two hour drive one way for service in my current vehicle. So driving four hours for warranty work isn’t exactly time well spent. There is no place between 30mins and two hours from where I live for service besides large brands like ford, ram, gm, Toyota, VW. If there is a service center in my smaller city then that would be amazing! Most likely there will be a service center four hours away in a much larger city. I still look forward to driving a Scout regardless of the location of a service center. Though I do have a faint hope of VW being able to do service.

I live 25 miles SW from downtown Nashville, TN. There would need to be a service center within 45 minutes of me, 60 minutes absolute max.
