Scout made it part of their design introduction that they plan on tactile knobs and control buttons. Nowhere is this more important than door handles, inside and outside. They should function even if the battery is dead . . . Or on fire!

Thank you for posting this. It's always important to read the owner's manual. If automakers didn't have manual releases they would be sued out of existence.

If i remember correctly the scouts doors are manual door latches not electronic.

Let’s hope every car maker puts electric door releases on the scrap heap and just sticks with the tried and true.
