Yes, exactly what we've been discussing. We'll see if that's what actually makes it to market when the vehicle actually exists as a mass produced vehicle.
Fascinating stuff for the high-end, solar powered towed travel trailer. The highest-cost units, $184,000 and $151,000, each have integrated solar battery house-power systems that feature drive-wheel assist functions on the trailer during towing. This makes up for rapid battery depletion on the...
Except it's not true, depending on how you parse the English. The battery in the Harvester Vehicle does not have 350 miles of range. Its more like 200mi, TBD.
I like the yellows and the greens. Not sure I like the black roofs, prefer the white or body-color. But, most are quite nice, and I get used to a color pretty quickly, I find, once I own it! As another said, I'm not a fan of the wide stripes, although subtle pinstriping I love.
Right. We're doing alot of guessing until it's built and we have the use stats (operating cost, mpg), final design (battery size, capacity, charging speed of engine) etc.
We're talking about the battery range with the Harvester add on. It's about 150 -200 miles BEV, since the engine replaces battery space (TBD). This means the Harvester will make the gas engine a necessity, even on relatively short tange trips. We're wishing the Harvester was added to the 350...
Yes, but the Harvester option has a smaller battery, and the engine kicks in at 150 miles, meaning that if one gets Harvester, it will be used alot with the smaller battery. I wish they offered the full size battery and Harvester, but there's not room for it . . . And it would be pricey...
The local Post and Courier Newspaper here in Charleston SC gave extensive coverage to Scouts big SC rollout at the SC Gamecocks Football Stadium. https://www.postandcourier.com/columbia/business/scout-motors-electric-car-blythewood-columbia/article_7ef59282-a36e-11ef-86df-bb56057af555.html
I use Android Auto on my Bronco, and it connects when I'm driving my son's Escape as well. In this era, it's an expected feature. I love those Google maps in living color on the screen. So much nicer than a suction-cup Garmin.
However, I also subscribe to the Ford Bronco Navigation App. It's a...
Scout made it part of their design introduction that they plan on tactile knobs and control buttons. Nowhere is this more important than door handles, inside and outside. They should function even if the battery is dead . . . Or on fire!
See this report of a Tesla burning alive its occupants...
"Local parts" is a fantasy, the components industry is worldwide. Locally assembled, sure. Hopefully the batteries will be "local" by then, but not fully yet.
Aren't the $51,000 base prices actually $60,000 prices minus the $7500 alleged tax credit? I think it's more accurate to say the base pricing is $60,000.
Remember the rear locker is standard, which is a great upgrade. However, the front locker will be an add-on, probably part of an off-road package, from what has been published.
