I’ve been wondering about this for a while now, but is there a good option for the spare tire on the Terra when that spare space under the bed is taken up by the Harvester engine? My thoughts are just in the bed, although that will take up a ton of space. A swing out carrier would work but forget using the truck with the tailgate folded down for moving all sorts of stuff. Any good options I’m not considering?

Rivian has room for it under the bed plus a battery but no harvester.

they just have to put the harvester in a better spot. You can’t off-road with no spare.

I have a feel the Harvest with be a boxer or a inline 3 or 4 placed on its side. For the room for a spare.

I sure hope so. I feel like you shouldn’t do anything without a spare much less off road!

I think the option to have the spare under the rear cargo area will be unavailable for those with the harvester. At least in the Terra you could put the spare in the bed, but with the harvester-equipped Traveler I think you will have to use the rear swing-out spare tire carrier or just not have one at all.

The space no one is talking about is the empty space behind the cab of the Terra. If Rivian can put a gear tunnel there, Scout can put a harvester in there. Then leave the spare under the bed like the Rivian too.

I really hope they figure that out, so if you want a tonneau cover, it should work no problem, but throw a spare in there full time and you’ll either have to have it flat taking up a ton of real estate or sitting up not allowing a cover to function and creating a blind spot. Maybe it’s not that big of a deal though and used with a softopper instead of having a tonneau could work.

Also, that blue truck with the side mount tire reminds me of the 2005 gladiator concept Jeep showed with the side tire. I actually thought it was a neat idea but the terra is pretty flat on the outer bedside that thing would stick out so much lol.

So the Rivian spare sits under the bed between the bed and the battery. It’s pretty slick and doesn’t take up any bed space. That’s what I was hoping for.

Scout says thar the Harvester takes away battery space, reducing the size of the battery, so it doesn't seem this is a problem. However, I wish it was a problem, if the Terra had a full size battery AND a Harvester, it would be a 750 mile beast!

Scout also said that up to a 33" tire would store underneath. People who want a 35" tire will have a bed storage option. It should slso work to put the SUV's swing away tire holder on the back, but that would make the pickup too long . . . 20' is the max for a parking space, Ferry, stc. And a spare tire off the back could impede towing.

Not having a place for the spare sucks (no place on Cyber Truck) so I speak from experience. I keep mine in the bed for winter - but summer the bed is used for loading dirt bikes and there's no room. Most I see have it on roof rack or in bed....I'll get the 35" tires so if stays as stated I'll be in the same boat with the scout! :-(...but there's time for Scout to figure it out, fingers crossed!
