Are you still a Scout buyer without $7500 EV tax credit?

If Scout can reach their price-points I am in regardless of the tax credits. I like what the company is trying to do philosophically, and if I understand the Harvester option correctly there isn't anything else on the market like it or even announced at this point.

That being said, I will buy the Traveler w/o the tax credit if everything is on par with Scout Motors plan of record + expected inflation...

I think it will be interesting to see if that happens with Elon as an advisor, cabinet or whatever he becomes. The $7,500 will benefit Tesla as well.

I am in for the Harvester so it makes no difference to me.

All that tax credit is, is a waste of the tax payer money. DOGE will most likely remove the Credit from the federal level and will make it become a State Governed Tax Credit.

Heres a bit more on this, everyone always jumps to its gonna hurt the EV market. No its gonna hurt the whole Auto industry. Because just think about how many more people saw it and said i’ve never owned a car but this will help me with getting one, even if they didn’t buy an EV it still probably got the sale since someone took the time to go out to a showroom floor. Thats why i think it will either stay at Federal level or it will become a State government level.

I’m buying a Traveler because of it’s body on frame, solid rear axle, extra width compared to my Wrangler, and the Harvester option. A tax credit has nothing to do with it. I’d never buy one if it was only an EV.

The BEV SUV and pickup truck markets are getting more competitive. For me it will be a bang for buck decision but I will only consider a domestically built vehicle. That's my redline ...

Again, you fundamentally don't understand what inflation is. Inflation is not the cost of goods. It is the average rate at which prices for goods increase over the course of a year. Even with the lower inflation rate we have now (2.6%), prices will still increase year over year.

What you want is called "deflation" and has only happened in the history of the US twice, after the Great Depression and the 2007-2009 recession.

Even if Trump lowered inflation down to what he inherited in his first term (under 1%. Thanks Obama), current prices would not go down. And considering that inflation jumped to 3x as much during his first year as President, I don't think you can count on that happening.
2.6% isn’t the inflation rate right now. It’s actually 22.1% do the digging not the “oh well google said this in the first thing it gave me let me use this.“

The credits are nice, I got two MYPs last year and two full credits.
Do you ever stop and say 'Thank you for subsidizing my luxury vehicles' when you pass poor people on the bus or driving beaters because they can't afford two high-end Teslas but have to pay taxes for you to do so?

Edit: This is a serious question. I am genuinely interested in whether this thought process ever occurs to people getting tax credits on something like a Model Y Plaid.
