  1. Apple Car Key Plz!

Gen 2 Rivian vehicles have the UWB hardware needed for Apple Car Key. I'd anticipate it in the Scout vehicles since we're far from production and designs aren't locked.
  2. PPF Paint Protection Film Wrap / XPEL / Clear Bra

Depends on who you ask, where you are, and what shop you compare with the factory option. Could Scout, if they so chose to offer a factory option, wrap a car similar than an independent shop, yes. The problem is, depending on your area, many shops would do a way better job than the factory and...
  3. Apple CarPlay + Android Auto for Scout Nav / infotainment says Scout rep

Yep, it would've been better if they didn't address it at all than the pat on the head we got. I would not hold my breath waiting for that announcement.
  4. Pricing & trim levels details in 12-18 months. Scout dedicated to $50-$51k estimated price for Traveler & Terra

Unless they're pricing in projected lithium prices falling or other efficiencies, I'd be surprised if the top trim isn't at least $80k. Even that is pushing it, Rivian started there and almost immediately needed to raise prices. The biggest cost is batteries which will likely come down in a...
  5. Terra Design Suggestion: 2 way tailgate, in bed trunk, & bed tie downs

Wouldn't mind a power-up taigate like the F150. They're going to look at ways to increase profitabilty on these vehicles, and that's an easy thing to add to a top trim.
  6. Since we're probably not getting Android Auto / Carplay...How about an analog line in?

Not sure it's been debunked but even if that's the case Lucid offers CP and I'm sure they will offer a subscription mode, if they haven't already. Having CP doesn't automatically make a paid sub model impossible. Unfortunately, this is all moot, Scout won't be able to make enough vehicles to...
  7. Since we're probably not getting Android Auto / Carplay...How about an analog line in?

It's not about the experience or paywalling features, although the latter is a nice little bonus; it's about user data. You should see how much my Rivian sends back to HQ at night. Rivian doesn't want to share that with anyone. The question is, are they free to add to the telematics in this VW...
  8. Will Terra rear window fully retract/lower?

I've seen many references but none I believe from Scout themselves confirming. I'd love it on the Terra also.
  9. Tinting glass roof

It's for software and electrical architecture expertise including intellectual property. The moment "zonal architecture" popped up in their slides it was clear they were taking more than just Rivian OS. They're going to take as much as they can to make that multibillion investment work for them...
  10. Tinting glass roof

Depends on how much they take from Rivian. G2 vehicles have an electrochromic filter that tints the glass on demand.
  11. App & Remote Functions via Phone - what do you want to see?

Copy the Rivian app, should cover the basics and then some. We already know there will be a physical key so the app only provides functionality if you choose to use it. My main concern will be phantom drain, ideally, it's less than Rivian G1 vehicles at launch.
  12. What differentiates Terra Pickup Truck vs. other EV competitors for you?

I think it may come in slightly lighter, especially because the "range spec" won't be the one with the AT tires. A dual motor R1T Max pack gets you 340 miles at 70mph (400 EPA rating) with 149 kWh. The Max pack R1T is at least 1500k lbs lighter than the Hummer/Silverado/Sierra. If Scout did a...
  13. Legroom and headroom is closer to F-150 than Rivian R1T (confirmed by Scout)

Agree, I'm confident in the ordering being no fuss, that's the easy part. The hard part will be delivery. Will the QC be strong enough that I'm not opening tickets because panel gaps prevent things from closing correctly? Will my passenger door need to be adjusted 3-4 times so it can be closed...
  14. Apple Carplay / Android Auto for Scout Motors Traveler & Terra?

I don't think it's a technical limitation or contractual. But it's the temptation to drink from the same "big data" cup as everyone else who refuses to use AA/CP. I wish they'd come out and say it one way or another though.
  15. Dimensions Size [Updated]: Scout TERRA Pickup vs. R1T, Lightning, Silverado EV, Hummer EV, Cybertruck, Raptor

I've not seen any specific interior dimensions. With the final packaging who knows, the R1T and Lightning are pretty close in width but the Lightning feels bigger on the inside. I hope they copy the Lightning proportion in a slightly shorter package.
  16. Dimensions Size [Updated]: Scout TERRA Pickup vs. R1T, Lightning, Silverado EV, Hummer EV, Cybertruck, Raptor

I'm pretty happy with the size. MY R1T is smaller and sportier than a Lightning but I'd trade that for more bed space and rear seat room. Scout seems to split the difference, I'll miss the occasional use of the gear tunnel but I'd rather have more useable cabin space.
  17. VW dealers / NADA may sue to change Scout's direct-to-customer business plan

The workaround has always been to build a “new” brand. Ford messed up by trying to do it all in the Model E program, that relied on existing dealers giving up control of pricing. Short of some monumental screw up I can’t imagine VW has any sort of deal with the dealer network prohibiting direct...
  18. Will Scout offer powered running boards

Rivian has kneel mode to assist with entry/exit as they all have an adaptive air suspension. I'm not sure the $60k Scout vehicles will, but have to imagine the standard EV trick of lower ride height speed to increase range will appear on the Scout vehicles. If so then it's not a strech to enable...
  19. Range reduction / battery life in cold winter temperatures -- what's your experience EV owners?

Depends on the EV and the efficiency. Years ago, my general rule when I drove a Tesla was to reduce range by 40% when it got under 40 out. With the Rivian I'm closer to 15-20%. The EPA has upped the difficulty of its range tests so I don't know if either of these are reasonable. The two biggest...
  20. Traveler Ultimate Wish List for Scout Motors

Lane change assist will be there, it came to all Rivian vehicles in a software update. If they could make it work on a platform designed almost 10 years ago (Gen 1 Rivians) then I can't see why it'd be absent from a vehicle that goes into production 2 years from now. Gen 2 Rivians are supposedly...
