What is the Scout Harvester?

So as I read through the forum, I keep reading people using the word “Harvester” like I am supposed to know what that is. I know of the old Scout Harvester, but people are talking like there’s some new model coming out with that name. Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about it. I tried searching the Internet for it and I’m just not finding it. I only know of the modern Scout Terra and the Scout Traveler. Could someone please enlighten me? I would greatly appreciate it!

In short, Harvester model is the one that will be powered by EV battery + a gasoline engine range extender.

oh I see thanks!!! So it’s not officially called harvester by Scout motors, so it’s a nickname that a scout enthusiast came up with for the extended range version. Got it now thanks.

It's not just a nickname. Harvester is what Scout is calling the gas range extender option. This is directly from the Scout press release that I linked above:

Extended Range Electric Vehicle​

From the start, Scout Motors was established as a company that listens to and is guided by consumers. As the shift to electric vehicles accelerates and the mass market more seriously considers electric vehicle adoption, some U.S. drivers have expressed concerns about the ability to recharge while on the road.​

Scout Motors listened. The Scout Traveler and Scout Terra will offer an optional extended range electric vehicle (EREV) energy system, called Harvester™. A proprietary Scout EREV energy system will unlock freedom on the road while still delivering off-road capability. With a small internal combustion engine added to the energy system, the gas-powered engine will recharge the vehicle’s high voltage battery, extending the range to more than an estimated 500 miles2 while maintaining the electric drive system’s instant response and off-road performance.​

Scouts with the Harvester option will have a fuel filler door with the Harvester label.
