Smog Check required for Harvester EREV gas engine in the Scout?

Saw this question asked and I'm curious too -- will Harvester EREV owners need to smog check their Scouts? There is emissions from the gasoline engine afterall.

Volts were smog checked, if it's on the road, and runs on fuel, I can't imagine why it wouldn't be tested.

It might have to, but depending on if the emissions of the engine and the battery equal out it will be considered carbon neutral. And wont have to be checked. Or at least that how my state handles it.
