I know it’s a cool design move to have a “signature” EV element, but please Scout Motors, let’s be true to the legacy and make the steering wheel round. It works better, looks better, and probably will save you money. It’s literally the only fault I could find with what has been presented so far. Anyone else with me?

I think a perfectly round shape would look better and would feel more familiar. I think the rest of the design looks really good. I'm getting used to the shape though and I'm sure it won't take long to get used to how it feels.

Just the decision to put the power button there. I'm hoping that is for the radio and not the truck itself...

Ugh. Then I hope they are smart enough to have some software interlock that prevents it from actually turning off the vehicle when it is not in "park." I will 100% accidentally hit that button.

I'm not a big fan of the wheel shape currently. Imagine being in tight spots offroad and trying to "palm" the wheel while maneuvering through obstacles and having to move your arm in an oblong shape to do it. Not cool. Power button on the wheel doesn't bother me at all.

I quite like the look. I doubt, in practice, the oblong shape of it would take any getting used to. At least they didn't do something dumb like the telsa yoke. Gross.

Absolutely hate the Tesla yoke and agree that the Scout wheel shape should not take much time to get used to. Perhaps they shaped it this way (other than to be different) to make it slightly easier to see over? Another nit for me is that hemp wood on the interior...hoping there will be alternative options.

Yeah thats a terrible place for the start button. In any situation where you have to park the vehicle with the wheel not perfectly straight, the button will always be in a different spot.

Yes, I'm glad they didn't go with the yoke type.

Would be surprising if Scout added in a start button. Rivians don't have one. At least if they must include make it optional, I'd much rather not use one.

Like the look of the steering wheel, but agree that round is far more functional. Dnt understand the dislike of the start button. I like it . My wife’s Genesis GV60 has a mode/boost button like that.

Everything that I’ve seen so far on the interior of these things, including the steering wheel, I love! I love the fact that everything is very mechanical, Lots of aluminum metal looking materials. These things look so much better than what I would’ve expected inside and out.
