For those coming from Porsche, Audi, VW, Lamborghini…….and frankly too many more to mention, who here has used OBD Eleven on their past platforms?

I have personally, and I believe it interfaces with all vehicle companies owned by VW.

It’s about a whopping $100, that allows you to use your Apple or Android phone to pull codes……..but more importantly to me, change how lights work, how doors unlock, how windows go down when unlocking (and the wiper sensors don’t detect rain), and you can change the speedometer when you change wheels to a smaller or larger diameter so your speed is accurate. This feature alone would get me to buy one if I didn’t already have one.

There is some fringe stuff as well that OBD Eleven can do with custom coding that is waaaay down the rabbit hole (to me), and is free if you know the long coding….but a few dollars if you purchase a “token” that has the upgrade already coded.

To my awareness, you wouldn’t use OBD Eleven to “tune” a vehicle for more HP/TQ, but you can alter throttle position parameters……for a more responsive throttle, and a number of drive/suspension settings.

Carly I believe does something similar, but again…..for brands that are VW owned.

Its nothing that voids any warranty, as a person, can easily switch back to how something came from the factory, and it doesn’t require “flashing” of a ECU/TCU etc.

I wrote all that in case Carly or OBD Eleven (used through a OBD 2 port for clarity) will support Scout. When we purchased my wife’s Mazda last year, I was kind of surprised that no similar interface existed, and I believe for other heavily modified platforms (such as Mustang, Jeep, etc.).

Who on this forum would be interested in OBD Eleven for Scout?

There is a Russian made hack for Ford that I used for my Bronco that worked great and would welcome the same for the Scout. If it was OEM made or approved...even better.
That is great to know, I am kind of surprised that nearly all vendors don’t have a similar product……whether officially or through a hack.

While I “might” be reluctant to a communist country hack…I really don’t know, as my ignorance can make things seem far more scary than they are.

What is the price on these Bronco interfaces, out of curiosity, and are they easy to find and use, or is it something that is down a REDDIT thread, or more grey area?

Here is a link to a sister site for Bronco that talks about it here. Worked well for me.

I'd love to be able to use my OBD Eleven dongle across my whole fleet... Means all those credits I have in the platform don't go to waste.

Since the software for Scout is coming from Rivian I suspect their tools will be more applicable than the VW tools. obviously it’s all speculation at this point.

Forscan is great stuff. I've been able to turn features on and off with both my Bronco and Maverick. Don't worry about giving your money to a communist country, there is nothing communist about Russia these days. More of a oligarchy or dictatorship.
It's free for 2 months and 1 year license is $12. You can pretty much do everything you need to with the free version but for $12 I'll support them, worth it.

I believe what @Lostleftcoaster was referring to is FORScan (https://forscan.org/home.html) which is free to use for a trial period then costs I think $12/yr or something. However, yes, with the correct OBD cable you can connect a pc laptop to the OBD2 port and easily change a host of items to your liking for Ford, Mazda, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.

It’s not a “reach” to think that you could.

it’s probably the best bang for the buck automotive product besides wheels and tires.

I use ForScan on my laptop to change just about anything on my Ranger. Chimes, lights, wake up screen, bambi mode, adjust speedometer, purge power brakes, pull and reset codes, you name it, if OBD11 does the same for the Scout I will get it, already have the laptop, cable and OBD adapter.

Well we know the software will be Rivian software, but how encompassing will that be?

Does anyone know if that only is for navigation?

As the harvester will be a gas (or diesel) so will that have its own ECU, that is separate and distinct from other elements supplied by Rivian?

Ultimately, while there is only one OBD 2 port aren’t there about 80+ ECU’s in a modern vehicle.

My wonder is……of those 80-150 ECU’s, how much is Rivian……and how much will be unique to Scout, or the Engineering borrowed from the VW juggernaut?
