Doesn’t even matter if there are foreign parts. Domestic producers always raise prices when they are protected by tariffs simply because they can. And Scout will lose export markets because of retaliatory tariffs so they’ll have to raise prices because of decreased volume. And we’ll end up paying for it all with higher prices on everything and reduced choice in product. All so stupid.

The issue Scout is going to have is finding vendors to source parts, and again won't all be in the US. 'dem prices gonna fly which is going to hurt us all as consumers., and hoping it won't kill the brand because they might not be able to get off the ground.

I'll be the first to admit I was wrong IF they go well after these decisions, but tarrifs help no one...

I this situation time may be on Scout’s side. ALL of the competitors prices will also rise (steel/aluminum etc.) and Scout can pick their suppliers based these new market pressures without already being locked into contracts/bids. May even be able to lease out production space in the state of the art factory to help cash flow (others will not be able to quickly build production lines). Like most other issues we discuss best to let this play out and see what 2028 brings us. Will be worth the wait and keep saving!!

Agreed, time may be on Scout's side, however to solidify manufacturing process, software and build specs they need to lock in sooner rather than later. I don't think these decisions are a Just-in-time choice, but I've never manufactured a car, though I am sleeping in a holiday inn tonight, so may have a better response tomorrow :)!!
