  1. Insider Info for Scout Forum Members

I feel the enthusiasm in general is dwindling, so a few stokes to the advertising fire would definitely keep folks talking. Personally I'm showing everyone that I talk to "my next ride" and it always gets positive comments on the looks. When I talk about the EREV aspect my audience perks up...
  2. Scout Traveler displayed in downtown Denver Colorado. Lots of closeup detail pics

Yes thanks for posting pics! "also verified that the battery only mileage is 350, with another 150 provided by the Harvester engine charging the battery. Have seen this spec presented the other way, so good to have clarity" I feel this information keeps going back/forth on what the actual...
  3. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

Agreed, time may be on Scout's side, however to solidify manufacturing process, software and build specs they need to lock in sooner rather than later. I don't think these decisions are a Just-in-time choice, but I've never manufactured a car, though I am sleeping in a holiday inn tonight, so...
  4. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

The issue Scout is going to have is finding vendors to source parts, and again won't all be in the US. 'dem prices gonna fly which is going to hurt us all as consumers., and hoping it won't kill the brand because they might not be able to get off the ground. I'll be the first to admit I was...
  5. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

Considering not *everything* will be made in the US, even for Tesla, costs are going to go up. Of course sh!t runs downhill so we get to pay for all of these dumb-ass decisions.
  6. Scout on CBS Saturday morning today! [Watch the video segment]

I agree, people bailing when we're still two years out and an unstable political climate, which sadly could impact production of these vehicles. We can't continue to bury our heads in the sand that this company is up against some serious uphill battles but I'm completely pulling for Scout!
  7. Scout on CBS Saturday morning today! [Watch the video segment]

Advertisement is what Scout needs! Seems they should've talked about EREV more especially to help pull in some range anxiety people/electric nay-sayers, but all in all great way to get the Scout name out there and relate that to some cool history.
  8. 80% Repairable

I wouldn't think maintenance items, I'd think fenders, bumpers, axles...things that can bust when wheeling.
  9. 80% Repairable

I'd like to repair most things like my current Jeep - axles, gears, brakes/rotors, clearly maintain the EREV engine, body parts...I'll be as hands on as they'll let me get away with. Electronics are not off-topic, but without access to a wiring schema or code (ha! like they would even allow...
  10. Jay Leno drives Scout Hybrid Harvester - Towing Capacity, Gas Fuel Tank Capacity, More Specs Revealed

Seems odd that it's still still 2 years out from final build and people already dropping like flies based on a statement about a still-being-developed car and rapidly changing tech. Yeah I'm not happy about the 150 miles on smaller battery pack on the EREV but I can wait until final specs are...
  11. 4-Cylinder Harvester EREV engine confirmed by CEO Scott! + 0-60mph, range, payload, towing specs discussions

Well he spoke of "possibilities" from an upgrade perspective. Bigger gas tanks, bigger battery options, I mean they're really going for it and don't even have the plant built yet! Let's hope they can pull it off.
  12. Air Suspension won't be standard / universal across Scout lineup

As I get older my knees are trash so having air for ingress/egress, as well as higher speed travels would be great, then give me rugged for when I'm wheeling!
  13. 4-Cylinder Harvester EREV engine confirmed by CEO Scott! + 0-60mph, range, payload, towing specs discussions

I listened to this podcast and WOW does Scott know how to speak and drive all the points in why he believes Scout will succeed. Yeah I still have some reservations on 150 initial EREV mileage but nothing's 100% yet as tech will keep changing up until they start manufacturing. Impressive...
  14. Off-Road usage

I currently have a Jeep and while I don't go too crazy, I do have some Texas pin-striping no thanks to branches and brush when wheeling. My wife has repeatedly stated "you'll never take a $60k+ vehicle 4 wheeling" but considering the Scout is built for it, I don't see why not. Yeah the paint is...
  15. Car Data Collection

Data Collection should always be a concern for anyone regardless of the device - I hope ppl aren't just blindly hitting "accept" when prompted about data collection from apps/phones. I get these are all choices that we make to own the device, but a car doesn't need to carry the same weight as a...
  16. Car Data Collection

With all the data being used from Tesla, Ford and I'm sure every car manufacturer out there, I wonder how much we'll be able to "opt out" of data collection from Scout, or at least from parts of it? I don't foresee Scout having full self-driving, but OTA updates require back/forth info from a...
  17. Start of production coming late 2027 for Scout vehicles (update by Scout 1/20/25)

Looks like I have to put a new transmission in my jeep to cover this wait time :(, but am hopeful it's sooner.
  18. Adapting to the Future Tech Before Production

Interesting thought, however Scout has yet to provide any details tech-wise in terms of battery, components, etc., and who knows who's going to manufacture those things for them. Know that tech is constantly changing and you can expect some form of "old" components after production begins...
  19. Scout Driver Assistance will be camera based system (no Radar or LIDAR)

While LIDAR would be nice, I feel Scout wants to limit tech (to some degree) and keep costs down vs. tossing everything and the kitchen sink into these vehicles. I feel their goal is to provide enough tech to get us, and keep us, outdoors.
