I read a question somewhere else about driving a trade-in and picking up Scout from the factory. that would be an awesome option...even if it meant putting 2.900 miles on the rig getting it home :)

As long as I get a tour of the plant, I’ll drive there from Pittsburgh.

Update: this article quotes Scout as saying that factory delivery will be available at the plant!

The brand plans to open Scout Experience Centers, and the first one will open at the company’s plant in Blythewood, S.C. It is being created as the front door of the plant, Thacker said, as well as a place for customers to take delivery, a starting point for factory tours and an off-road driving experience.

Jamie, a Scout Motors employee recently confirmed that factory delivery for our Scout EVs "is something we are actively exploring. Short answer is very likely. :D"

Sounds like a great decision to me. Brands that have factory delivery programs seem to build more ownership loyalty and a community spirit in my opinion. And what better first experience with your new vehicle than to road trip home with it.

That's a ~1600 mile trip from the Scout production plant in Blythewood, SC. Perfect for a 2-3 day roadtrip home.

2 questions --
Think factory delivery will be free or charge a fee?
Will you guys be opting for factory delivery?
I used to Live in Blythewood where I retired from the military and my wife ordered me back to Ohio. I would have stayed if I could have. Loved the house I owned there.

I would definitely take a factory tour, experience and off road course and drive back to Cleveland. I would fly in.

I have probably already posted in this thread - but I did about 1400 miles to get my old jeep, and just did 2200 miles to pick up a boat and get their factory tour. So sure, time permits, would drive to the mothership for a Scout (or better yet - fly and drive home). If enough people were doing it daily, they could even arrange an airport shuttle.
