You too!! Happy New Year. Honestly its gonna be hilarious when all of use do possible meet at delivery since we all have talked on here for by then close to 4 yearsNice I'm pretty positive person but I try to apply commonsense to things I always found putting oneself on other side of the desk works well I hope to meet you one day at a scout event or at delivery. Best of health in the New Year
Im taking over the red house lol! Ill be sleeping there for the night.Delivery will have take place during daylight so we all can drive home
That’s why Scout made it be that Member of the Scout Official Community Forum, would take first spots in delivery when they used the same email to place their reservation.Imagine a camp site of scout travelers powering all its needs while forum members and non forum members mingle and learn about their vehicles and drive off in their new Scouts along with their new friendships that's priceless
More of that difference likely went to the manufacturers than was passed on to the consumers. Given that OEMs sell the vehicles to dealers for less than MSRP, and in a direct sales model they'll be sold for MSRP, the factory gets that difference. The factory also gets out of the business of dealer incentives, etc. However, for consumers I view the DTC model being superior as an anti-ripoff play. No markups, no adjustments, no inferior dealer installed options, no games. If something goes sideways and Scouts have to sold through VW dealers that's a non-starter for me. If they have to set up dedicated franchise dealerships (like Audi did when they stopped being allowed to co-locate with VW), I'd have to take a wait and see approach.Jalopnik (May 2023) reported that Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid direct-to-consumer car sales cost dealers $910 million in profits, which is $910 million more in those customers' pockets. The dealership model is finally being challenged, and I am happy.
Of course, the California dealers are declaring war on Scout Motors' proposed direct sales model, but if I have to consummate my purchase at a dealer, I will walk away. So I see the same, simple answer for Jeep ... walk away from California. They will likely be sold out for a couple of years, they can market their vehicles as "Too Good for California" and revisit the State later on.
