I believe its only the Mandate, but the mandate is tied in with the credit so who knows.

and state tex credits would still be allowed anyway.

There is no mandate. There is a set of executive orders that collectively seek the goal of half of all new cars sold in 2039 should be EV’s. Trump can cancel that with an executive order, but he can’t cancel most of the other EV related regulations because they are law. That will take a review period and new legislation. BTW, the world is in an oil oversupply situation and US energy producers are producing at record capacity—and he’s basically just making all this stuff up as usual.

Explain to me why Gas prices are still high then if were in a “oil oversupply”. Its because we don't have enough oil. Read and research before you speak.

I think time will determine how this plays out and impacts companies like Scout, Rivian, Lucid as well as GM and Ford. Scout is still at least 2.5 years away from production so that gives them time to see the landscape.
Overall, I'm concerned about the BEV market in the US and how we'll be able to compete worldwide as OEMs like GM and Ford are way behind and new companies like Rivian and Scout could get hampered significantly.

They say Legacy Motors are in more trouble than new companies since they can get out there with newer tech and make bespoke software while the Legacy Motors have to find ways to compete. Example is Tesla bringing big screens into cars and the Legacy auto companies making larger screens trying to compete.

Legacy manufacturers are starting with a burden - history. They have decades of R&D. Hard to give up all that knowledge, but using it sometimes saves money up front and costs it down the road. For legacy manufacturers that means higher per unit production costs and often a loss of EV performance.

It is my personal hope, that EV's have evolved enough to compete on a level playing field - if that is the case, the mandates have served their purpose. I think EV's have a place - just not every place. Mandates can try to force a round peg into a square hole. For commuting and small trips - I think EV's are great. Right now, for towing any realistic distance - I really don't think they are a good fit. What needs to happen is for more people to realize that they will do 99% of what they need a vehicle to do better. That said, I tow a lot - and really don't want my 3/4 ton diesel to be mandated away.

By 2030 all car sales must be 65% EV and in 2035 all car sales must be 100% EV.

The key here is the market should not be skewed with more credits/subsidies attempting to force us into vehicles we would not otherwise buy. Currently EVs already have a leg up as they do not help pay for roads via a fuel tax - but there are several states that will be soon charging a per-mile tax for that reason. May the best propulsion system win!

The EV mandate from Biden ( which was not legally enforceable) was to have 1/2(50%) of new car sales electric by 2030, however this also just froze all the unspent charging funds for building a charging network across the country. That sucks.

Does it really? Almost all of the chargers that law put in aren’t even active. So really he did a favor by freezing it. Making Tax payer dollars not go to waste by building chargers that aren’t even working.

You have to do it in parts. Put in stations then, start networking the power to each station. Just building the stations don’t magically provide all the infrastructure to power them.
