I have noticed that the start stop button is in the steering wheel. That seems like a terrible place for it. I hit the buttons on my cars steering wheel while driving all the time. šŸ˜¬

I'm sure you'll have to hold the button down for several seconds to shut everything down. You are correct though-- it doesn't seem like an ideal location.

Yeah I would hope. But I donā€™t like it. Makes me uneasy.

You'd probably acclimate to it, but yeah this type of button seems better served on the dash vs. steering wheel. Likely they were going for overall aesthetics...

Itā€™s not even needed especially if they are using Rivians architecture . Iā€™m actually surprised they are using a start/stop button.

Why is there a start/stop button? Why not start the vehicle when brake is pressed, just like Rivian/Tesla and others.

The reason a start stop button is present is because Scout wants to take out the ā€œAIā€ in the vehicle and make it more human interactive. Feeling the vehicleā€™s presence and what itā€™s feeling. Same reason it has real door handles.

As on what was said in Out of Spec Reviews CES UX Tour. Scout is coding it UX operating system to be tailored to Scout not Rivian or VW. Which Community UX software and the Scout is built to work with The Zonal Architecture not copy exactly what Rivian has.

Itā€™s a Scout not a Rivian thats why they can have a Start Stop.

My First BEV was an Ionic 5 and it had a start button, but when I got my Rivian R1T that doesnā€™t I realized how unnecessary it is.
