Tinting glass roof

Anyone plan to get the glass roof model and tint the roof? I know some tinters warn against tinting glass roofs on the theory that it absorbs too much heat in the sun and could cause the glass to crack / break.

But has anyone here actually had this happen to them? I know we have many Rivian and Tesla Model X owners here so maybe you guys can share your experience.

We have a glass roof on our GLS580. They typically come tinted - would imagine the same with the Scouts.

Depends on how much they take from Rivian. G2 vehicles have an electrochromic filter that tints the glass on demand.

Rivian was only for software. Not design.

It's for software and electrical architecture expertise including intellectual property. The moment "zonal architecture" popped up in their slides it was clear they were taking more than just Rivian OS. They're going to take as much as they can to make that multibillion investment work for them. I mention the glass roof because they could easily extend the deal Rivian has with their supplier to cover a few thousand more units in a slightly different shape.

Have they confirmed it won’t have a retractable sunshade for it? My ID.4 seems to be one of the few EVs where the glass roof comes with the sunshade.
