Snorkel for Harvester Scout to achieve 3 foot water wading depth ability?

In order for the Harvester to achieve 3 foot water depth capability as announced, won't it require a snorkel to protect the gas engine range extender?

not if the intake is already high enough, which stock configuration is how these thing's are rated.
