While true about Stellantis, the Bronco was supposed to wipe up the Wrangler too, but it didn't happen. For 2025, the Bronco is pretty much a mall crawler now.

I still think EV for off roading is a non starter (preception-wise). A 2-door removable top ORV is a unique animal. There are perceived quality issues that come with such a compromised design. The Bronco suffered greatly from it. Mall crawler owners have a difficult time accepting the extra road and wind noise that a removable top (and doors) design brings.
We own a bronco with a hardtop, and have never had such problems at all. I understand it’s OK for you to hate on bronco, but I have to correct your statements about the quality comments that you’ve made in several places on this forum about hardtops. That’s just not true about the hardtop on the bronco having such quality issues. I’ve taken my bronco down roads that only a hard-core SUV could get through. So I don’t know what compromise you’re talking about. There are bronco clubs that do these hard-core roads every week in America. There’s a rollbar on the top of the bronco, so when you take the hardtop off you drive around safely in a convertible in mother nature. It’s just awesome! Ford doesn’t even make the hardtop. They contract it out to a well known vendor. It probably would be the same vendor that Scout would use for their potential hardtop models. If you don’t like the hardtop, why don’t you just buy a Scout that doesn’t come that way which is how they are first offering them. And we have never even taken our bronco to the mall. Ford had problems getting microchips for the Broncos just like a bunch of other manufacturers. I never read anywhere that Ford bronco was supposed to wipe up jeeps. There’s a lot of Jeep fanatics out there and there’s nothing wrong with that. But there’s also a lot of bronco fans. Just like there are a lot of scout fans. I happen to love the old Broncos and scouts. That’s why I’m here. Do you work for Scout in anyway?? I just don’t understand your hatred of wanting to have a hardtop Scout that’s offered In the future.

LOL. Dude, I own a 2022 Bronco Black Diamond 2-door, manual trans with the Advanced (automatic) transfercase. I was an early Reservationist (September 2020), had a 2021 build date until someone waxed their hardtop and the honeycomb snakeskin became more visible (and all the Karens FREAKED OUT). My Bronco was built over the time between January 30th 2022, and March 31st, 2022 (i.e. chip shortage), then was stuck in the back of the lot at "Dirt Mountain" until July 2022, when it was finally shipped to my local dealer; a 22-month wait in total, to get it. The delay required installation of a replacement starter battery when it finally reached the dealer. LOL.

Back in 2021, I was all over the B6G Forum defending Ford and trying to explain how light weight plastics were manufactured (I have a degree in manufacturing engineering) and shared my thoughts on why the MIC top was delayed. Delayed because Webasto got behind schedule in the hardtop production due to a delayed start of build their factory in Michigan. The developer cleared the lot of trees without the proper permitting from the state of Michigan which significantly delayed construction start of the factory. I also tried to defend the delayed spiral development of the MIC top being affected by COVID; Webasto centers of excellence used to design the top construction and build the tooling were located in Wuhan, China and Northern Italy (some of the two hardest affected places on the planet by COVID). I also stated early on, the top should have been designed with a foam core structure instead of the resin-covered cardboard honeycomb. One of the aftermarket companies trying to build a Bronco hardtop follow that design construction.

I have a J-bar lift in my garage for hard top removal and a Broncover when the top and doors are removed.

I also owned a soft-top 1st-Gen Jeep Wrangler (YJ) for 14 years. So trust me, I know my way around the Jeep/Bronco vehicle type. The YJ soft top is an effing LOUD vehicle, especially the one I had, which had zero sound insulation. The hard top/removable doors is a compromise design when it comes to noise and harshness. The gaps of the doors to the body and the gaps of the top to the body are wider than those of a fixed-roof design. The gaps have to be wider to allow room to fit the doors so they are easy to remove and likewise for the hard top to be removed and to accommodate body/frame flex of an open-top vehicle. Wider gaps allow road noise to enter the cabin easier than a fixed-roof design. The 3-section (or 4-section for the 4-door) design of the hardtop has gaps in the top roof section for the two front tops, windshield header and clamshell all add areas for wind to create turbulence over the top, which creates wind noise a smooth fixed-roof vehicle does not have. It doesn't make the Bronco a bad vehicle, it just makes it louder than a traditional fixed-roof SUV. This is no different than a convertible vs. hardtop sedan. My comment pertained to the questioning of the market being able to absorb a 3rd open-roof ORV in the Jeep/Bronco space. That was it. Just a question.

A lot of people bought a Bronco and found out it is a loud vehicle. There are hundreds of threads on the topic on the two major Bronco forums. Humorous I found were the posts on how the rain rolls off both the hard top and soft tops and gets one's pants wet. LOL. The vehicle is INTENDED for those types of people who like to go 4-wheeling and get dirty. If one has a problem with rainwater getting their pants wet when they open the door, well MAYBE they bought the wrong type of vehicle. That was my point.

If I didn't like the Bronco I would not have waited 22 months to buy it. Chill.

@Efthreeoh You COULDN’T just say, “ My bad. I’m sorry I’m very negative in every comment I leave in the forum. And I challenge everybody. I’ll stop doing that. Sorry about that.” You couldn’t just reply back and do that could you!!

Because you don’t want a hardtop Scout, because you already have a Bronco with a hardtop and you think it’s noisy. You don’t want a powerful Scout, you want one that’s wimpy because your Hummer is already powerful. And on and on and on. Negative negative negative. Well, I’m done with you trolling me. Say whatever you want. Reply whatever you want. You’re not hooking me in. I’m done.

I’m wondering since Scout says that they’re going to be a brand and not a model if they’re gonna eventually come out with all different kinds of SUVs like this. I think it’s awesome. I hope they do. Lots of people with a bunch of kids would be very interested in a wagon I’m sure.

I said this:

You read that as me being negative, which is your issue, not mine. Then you errantly made an assumption I don't like the Bronco, so I felt it was necessary for me to explain I own a Bronco (and quite invested in it regarding my understanding of the vehicle), and what I write comes from experience. I think the quality of the Bronco matches its intent as an off-road vehicle; however, a lot of owners find both Jeep Wranglers and Broncos as noisy and somewhat raw vehicles, which drives their perception both the Wrangler and Bronco are not quality automobiles.

My opinion is Scout motors should heavily weigh the decision to introduce and produce a 3rd removable-roof/removable-door ORV to the marketplace. If in fact that is what is under the tarp. If one reviews the Bronco trim levels for 2025, Ford has dropped the 2-door and manual transmission configurations from several trim levels, which is an indication where the market for ORV is headed. Added on top of that is I think acceptance of a BEV for true ORV use is a difficult ask of the market. That's all. Not sure why any of that is offensive.

If I was the product manager of Scout I would be saying to the team that we should bring back the Station wagons and wagons.
