The recent message thread about forum members losing interest and getting concerned about how the future of Scout will play out seemed to capture a pretty common feeling.

How about Scout giving us a little more insight into what is going on with the development and testing using engineering mules (pic’s, general progress updates, juicy tidbits when appropriate). The factory construction updates are an example of what many of us would appreciate related to vehicle hardware and software development.

I know this could be a little risky for Scout but would give the faithful a little hope that we will all get to the product roll out eventually. Thoughts/wishes??

Great idea PMurphy(I like your pizza). I am sure they can let out a lot of non proprietary information that will be exciting to the average joe and not be a lost secret. There is a lot of cool stuff in fields like metallurgy, electrical engineering, robotics, paint process, manufacturing automation, etc that could be shared in a way like they do product lifecycle management allowing an average electrician work on a top secret U-boat or next gen fighter without divulging any secrets.

I agree. The last major news released by Scout was on Jay Lenos garage back in late February. And by the way, most notably, many saw that as a let down with regards to the towing capacity. Scout has to get back to giving enthusiasts something to hold onto during these two years before production starts. At least something biweekly. It doesn't have to be groundbreaking, but just something to keep our eye on the prize. Then every once in while throw us a bone, crack open the safe and give us a glimpse of the progress made. Something significant to keep us drooling and licking our lips, cant wait to see what Scout will do next.

Its a long wait until 2027-28. I's bet Scout has its comms plan pretty much locked down for the coming few years.

I think the rig will be a gem, I would also be interested in sales and service for it...where do we buy and where do we go with problems??? I know they put out a little info but a carrot or 2 here and there would be nice... cant wait!!!!

I feel the enthusiasm in general is dwindling, so a few stokes to the advertising fire would definitely keep folks talking.

Personally I'm showing everyone that I talk to "my next ride" and it always gets positive comments on the looks. When I talk about the EREV aspect my audience perks up even more! Would love to share more info, if we only had it!

I’m sure they are doing every possible thing they can and still remain smart in this process.

There are going to be many months of no news, interspersed with tidbits. Anyone who followed the Lightning or cyber truck knows this.

Way too much risk in advertising official aspects of the truck when frankly anything could change in 2.5 years. They aren’t going to be cavalier with it.
A great way to tick off & disappoint customers is to start prematurely giving details of the truck/behicle and have significant aspects change on the customer….. hence, the towing fiasco on Lenos video. Too much risk. Not enough upside. I’m sure they are finding the right balance.

Patience people. This is a long haul.

How about they worry about getting the factory built and machined. And then they need staff. The monthly updates are plenty at this point. What more info do you want that they have not all ready put out?

You're absolutely right - better to surprise customers at the last minute with bad news, that way it's too late to incorporate any customer feedback on design trade-off decisions...

Watching the sausage being made is something you really don't want. None of us has any influence on the design of the Scouts at this point. Don't kid yourself.

And what would anyone do about it if the information they receive is not to their liking? 🤣

Just an understanding of how things actually happen.

I do service work for a national restaurant chain, and have spent a lot of time in a lot of kitchens. Yeah, they are sanitary and follow the health code, but after seeing how things are done you lose the desire to eat any of the food, unless you need to.
