Which has the better ride quality between the two? I'm assuming air suspension?
I wouldn’t compare the add on airbags with the factory air suspension. I’ve had both. The Mercedes GL/GLE class has air suspension in and it’s like floating on air going down the highway. My diesel pusher motorhome is the same type of setup. Air suspension is pretty amazing when it comes to ride quality but I personally would not want it for more technical off-roading like I do in my Jeep or Scout sometimes.

On the add-on air bags, I have used these for towing heavy loads and it only adds more support to existing suspension. Even at minimum psi (5), it makes the ride a bit stiffer imo.

Like others have said, I think making air suspension optional is a good thing.

I hope air suspension is an option on all ranges. After having it in my LR3, I don’t want to go without on or off road.

If they use a good, reliable one then just make it standard. I remember some air suspensions having issues with the bags getting holes and causing costly repairs. I know some that removed it for a standard suspension due to this.

The good news is that VW air suspension is generally more reliable than the Land Rover version.
It's not a surprise that it won't be on lower trims. They've got to cut out something to make that under $50k price point.

Air suspension would be a deal breaker for me. I even switched my LR3 right over to coils as soon as I got it. There is absolutely zero reason to brag about putting 35s on the scout and backing it up with air suspension

I expect that I'll goal-seek towards the highest BEV trim available without mandatory air suspension or exotic offroading HW that I'll admittedly never use.

I'm all in for retro-modern BEV with elevated stance and physical switchgear. See you at the mall.
