Thank you for posting this. It's always important to read the owner's manual. If automakers didn't have manual releases they would be sued out of existence.
My decision to buy the Scout with or without a tax credit will depend on the finished product. If the Harvester is well thought-out, my desired options are available, and the price is under 6 figures, I'm still interested. A lot can happen in 2-3 years. I try not to worry about things I can't...
Rivian also makes delivery vans for Amazon. Amazon owns 17% of Rivian. They just have to hold on until their new products come out. The R2 and R3 look good on paper.
The joint venture will give VW access to Rivian's electrical architecture and they will co-develop software. The billion dollars is an initial investment. Step two was ensuring that the Rivian tech will work with VW tech. Once the government approves the investment, the billion dollars will be...
It's probable not every Traveler will have an external tire carrier. We don't know if it's an option or part of a package yet. The base model may have the spare mounted inside or underneath, although the Harvester option would likely make packaging a tire underneath difficult. Time will tell.
VW is building a massive battery plant in Ontario, Canada. It may be up and running in 2027 and have the capacity to make batteries for around 1 million vehicles.

Every gas station I go to has hoses on both sides of the pumps. It's as simple as pulling up to a pump on the same side as the filler door. Where's the problem?
It's not surprising. The plant has a capacity of 200,000 vehicles per year. To be profitable, automotive plants must operate as close to max output as possible. Audi might benefit from a Defender competitor. Perhaps they could build Scouts for Australia?
The Terra 240v outlet is inside the bed, so Scout needs to find a place inside the Traveler. I haven't seen any photos of the Traveler cargo area yet, and there has been no mention of a 240v outlet. Scout is paying attention to their potential buyers--keep voicing your opinions! There's time...
During the live introduction, the speaker mentioned it being plow-capable. You can watch it online. Initial towing figures are 7000 lbs for Traveler and 10,000 lbs for Terra. A lot can happen in 2+ years, though.
I'm only passing along information Scout has given out. At the release presentation they said the battery would be smaller. The fuel tank has to go somewhere.
