I imagine optional or aftermarket step bars will exist...

Sounds like there will be - minimally - optional air suspension. You might get your height adjustment wish anyways.
Not only step bars but likely retractable step bars...they exist today

retractable bars don't last long where it snows in the winter. Salt and sand get into it and it locks up. It would need constant winter maintenance to have any chance of lasting.

Extra wide Rock rail sliders that double as steps might be needed from day 1. Not those TRD ladder steps that just break off.

I would rather have air suspension to lower the car to something reasonable and put on highway tires to further help boost range day to day... I can always swap the tires when it's time for "overlanding" / winter. For what I do 10" ground clearance is plenty to not high center in snow. R1S AIR SUSPENSION GOES FROM 8"-15"

make this a similar priced but better looking 4runner off-road in EREV form and take my money.. I don't really want a lifted wrangler/bronco utilitarian behemoth for daily driving. It's just not practical. Die hard off roaders always are the loudest but they are not the majority of buyers.
