No-Carpet option

One of the things I liked about a Jeep I owned in the past was that a previous owner removed carpet (I'm assuming) and had huge rubber mats front/rear - I could just hose out the dirt/mud after an adventure. I hope there's an option to replace any carpet with some kind of rubber or vinyl floor covering. I like weathertechs - but they only go so far...

Our Chevy W/T has the rubberized floor covering as well for easier cleaning. Love that option.

There is no carpet. It’s a Fine Woven material of some sort from what has been seen on the reveal models.

I kindof remember that (in my 60's) now that you mention it...

No suppliers have been sourced for interior hard or soft trim.

So whatever the reveals have, is literally one off and not representative.

Don't know if rubber or vinyl flooring saves money, but sure hope it's an option!

Jeeps (Gladiator/Wrangler) are available with a vinyl floor, but it's a 600.00 option, because they make 300,000 a year with carpet by default, making that the cheaper option.

Looking around the forum here, reading comments, it seems to be a 70/30 split in favor of luxury currently.

There's a reason Toyota doesn't sell those 10k trucks here, and it's not because they hate money lol.

I'm 100% in favor of it, but I don't think a new startup is going to offer a plethora of options, they'll be happy just to get trucks out the door.

Every option is another sequencing operation that has to take place through the supply chain, or be done offsite and run into the factory.

I bet a 60k vehicle would easily go down to 45k if you cut out all options and only built them one way.

I'm sure you're right - I spent a lot of time in plants installing or repairing machines but didn't get acquainted much with the engineering or logistics of actually building the cars...
